So much for this prediction in a simulated NBA 2K19 MyCAREER!

Its funny nowadays that a James Harden trade doesn't even move the needle much anymore.

I really dont know who the winner in this trade between the Cavs and Harden is.

I like what the Bulls have done though but I do think they need another big unless iam forgetting about any hidden gems on that roster who can play center and stay healthy outside of Collins and Jalen Smith

Apparently Harden didn't actually demand a trade, so it's definitely surprising with the Clippers turning things around since the CP3 debacle. I'd say the Cavs got the better end of the deal, at least in the short term.

Yeah true looks like Clippers are in part rebuild mode now

I really like what the Bulls did at the deadline, bringing in Nick Richards was a huge pick up

Iam not going to pretend I watched the allstar game, I have zero interest in the current format however I hear thay the players played hard which is better but I have no interest in the game unless they add a retired nba players game to the weekend.

Also Adam Silver needs to be stopped, especially after talk of making rookies FAs to get rid of tanking

I just find it strange that things like getting players to compete throughout the regular season or care about the All-Star Game, or prevent teams from tanking, are such big issues now. I'm not saying they were never issues before, especially tanking, but the culture shift in the league has been dismaying to see.

This was the first time in more than a decade that I actually watched the All-Star game all they way through. I still prefer East v. West, but I can live with this format.

The culture shift has been happening for a while now. It's one of the main reasons my interest in the NBA isn't what it was during the 80s, 90s & early 00s (even with the Knicks resurgence). I just miss the old style of play, which I know is never coming back.

I think the effort isnt there, loads management and tanking etc is happening because all the players are already making guaranteed money if they play or not.

The proof of this is watch players in a contract year, they will play more games, hustle on D and play to win

There's some better basketball in the Playoffs too, but the effort used to be there all year around, with the Playoffs kicking things into an even higher gear. I hate to sound like an "old head" falling victim to nostalgia and refusing to get with the times, but I think the change is undeniable at this point. I've seen a few eras come and go now, and this is the first time that these issues have become so pronounced.

I noticed the shift happening around 2016. Definitely feels like a pivotal year in the league, as well as its culture and fandom.

Yesterday I said the nba would be better off without lebron & Adam Silver so clearly my phone was listening and reported me to the League to which they responded with threats... yes iam taking it that way of lebron playing his final year as a member of the New York Knicks which would force me to watch every game in his farewell tour while probably having to watch young players give up minutes for Bronny James too.

Iam going to double down and say get these 2 clowns away from league ,stop forcing lebron on everyone as "The Goat" hes not, he never will be.
4 rings in 20 years with a 4-6 finals record on "superteams" will never be expected by a single person who watched Jordan and Kobe play as "Greatness"

Agreed. I think if nothing else, there's merit in passing the torch to the next generation and yielding the spotlight when the time comes, even if you can still play and get your numbers. I respect the longevity, but at a certain point it also becomes an arrogant refusal to step out of the limelight.
