As per
PointAfter. This was posted back in May, but I don't believe that it was brought up around these parts.
Earlier this week, PointAfter unveiled Player Value Index (PVI) to determine the most valuable players in the NBA. Now, it's time to examine the other, darker side of the spectrum: the least useful players. The guys who commit bone-headed turnovers, chuck up ill-advised shots from all over the court and exhibit a painful lack of understanding on the defensive end.
To review, PVI incorporates the following statistics into its formula: Player Efficiency Rating (PER), Value Over Replacement Player (VORP), box plus-minus (BPM), win shares and usage rate. These statistics are all at the forefront of the NBA sabermetrics movement, and are widely used in measuring a player's efficiency and/or value to his team.
The players highlighted here aren't the benchwarmers who rarely saw court time — the 323 players who qualified for consideration all played at least 41 games. Because when a losing squad reviews its season and wonders what could have been, the finger of blame isn't pointed at the roster filler who barely got to play. It's aimed toward the guys who had the chance to prove themselves but couldn't seize the moment. The 25 players deemed least valuable by PVI ultimately should have seen a hefty portion of their minutes allocated to more efficient contributors.
Not too many surprises there.

The only surprise is that Tony Snell isn't higher than #7

True, though I guess there is some stiff competition in the top ten. He's shown brief flashes of promises at times, but ultimately, they've been a flash in the pan. I'm completely in favour of them letting him go.

I'm in favor of them (GarPax) letting themselves go

He got signed onto the Lakers in mycareer so I am learning first-hand how bad he truly is lol

Nick Young is shockingly bad, I was watching some Drew League last night (Young vs Harden) and the amount of over dribbling and bad shots taken was ridiculous by both of them but at least Harden got a few assists

Same, but it's wishful thinking!

Try watching him and not cringing over an 82 game season
New drinking game - drink a shot whenever he messes up in a game. You'll be done by halftime...

Indeed, our only hope (very slim one) lies in Jerry Reinsdorf seeing the light

I hope they don't extend the qualifying offer to him. Probably a nice person and all, a hard worker in practice and a good teammate, but he shouldn't be in their long-term plans.

Ty Lawson. This guy was an excellent player just a season before that. If he ever regains his monstrous assist game, he will be the best pick up of the offseason.

He is reportedly over his alcohol problems but he didn't get along with Harden in Houston. He was playing a lot better with Indiana last season until the playoffs started and I made nearly as many shots as he did.
On paper he should have turned Houston into offensive juggernauts last year. Of course, on paper, Josh Smith should have fixed a bunch of Houston's holes too. And of course, on paper, Dwight Howard would know he has no post moves and stops demanding to be posted up.

He brushed off his alcohol use as "never a problem" he just made bad choices.
I'd say to any team to give him a shot as it would only be for the vets min so low risk high reward.
