The Charlotte Hornets have signed shooting guard Jeremy Lamb to a three-year contract extension that will pay him about $21 million. Lamb was traded by Oklahoma City to Charlotte in June after three uneventful seasons with the Thunder. In two games off the bench for the Hornets, Lamb is averaging 10 points and three rebounds in 18 minutes per game.

Hidden gem of Harden trade and NLSC's favorite Lamb signs the deal with the Hornets.

Well, I'll give him this: he's having his best season so far, through all of two games that he's played.

Maybe he'll pan out and be a solid player in the long run, but even if it isn't the biggest deal around, it seems like a lot of faith to put in a player who hasn't displayed a whole lot of brilliance at the professional level as yet.

I think this could work out well for Michael Jordan. Lamb still has potential and Hornets gets to lock him up for 3 years of his prime time at moderate cost.

I guess it's not the worst risk he's taken.

I don't know why it bothers me so much seeing all these scrubs get these huge contracts. The owners still make out better off than the players, and adjusted for inflation, the cap isn't that much higher than it was when I started paying attention to it ten years ago. Perhaps it is because I watch football where the money must be divided up between 53 players, rather than 13-15.

Anyway, I don't really understand this. Lamb might be good some day, but they're giving big money to a guy who in three seasons hasn't been able to crack the rotation of a good team. Sure, the Hornets aren't even trying to win a title, but it seems like a waste of money when you can get equal production for the league minimum.

Perhaps they're encouraged by the potential he shows in practice, thinking he can do that out on the floor in games that matter some day. Perhaps they see something that everyone else doesn't. For now, it's a strange signing. Even if it's a fairly modest deal by recent standards, it's still a reasonably big commitment to a player who's yet to prove his worth at the pro level.

I remember thinking Aminu wasn't worth his Portland deal and I guess this is similar but only slightly shorter and cheaper deal. Perhaps this is the trend as everyone expect Cap to significantly rise next year(ppl overpay more next year so do it now?) and some teams pay bit extra to go young. But I don't think this is a big commitment by Michael Jordan. He won't lose sleep over this 3 year short term deal even if it doesn't go too well.

Perhaps. It definitely doesn't rank up there as one of the worst deals ever offered, but it is a bit surprising, given his production so far, and current role.

Pretty good list there, though I don't know that I'd include Grant Hill (or at least rank him that high). It was a signing that didn't pan out, but that was due to bad luck. I wouldn't rank that above giving big money to players who absolutely didn't deserve it in the first place. But yeah, solid list.

Rich Cho = best GM ever. He signed Jeremy Lin. Acquired Jeremy Lamb so commentators would get them confused.
In all seriousness, dude did a great job in helping turn around the Thunder and wasn't given a fair shot in Portland, as Roy's knees were done at that point and they had severely mismanaged the young talent they had there.

My goodness. Lamb is playing quite well. He's posting .618 TS% which is near godlike number for a SG. Another Jeremy is also playing well. They should start over PJ HairStoned and Kemba Walka, and the Hornets actually might start winning.

Besides Lin's hair is sick. Can anyone tell me which hair product he uses?
