* So those Celtic teams of the 70s were pretty deep, but how they managed to win 68 games and win two titles is beyond me. Outstanding.

Cowens was a good defender and rebounder, leading the league in defensive win shares one year. He averaged better than 13.9 rebounds in his first 8 seasons in the league.

Cowens also played big minutes and was akways around the 20 point per game mark.

He also had 6 seasons where he averaged more than 4 assists per game.

2. Hot Rod Williams (1986-87 to 1998-99)

* So, we need another player to make this a voting. Although Howell and Boerwinkle probably deserve to be a votable option more than Hot Rod, they wouldn't get any votes because of their anonimity. Some members in the forum probably had a chance to watch him play.

Hot Rod did have a couple of solid years in the league, but was never more than a solid starter.

Still, lets see if getting dunked on by KJ will get him some votes.

Other Notable Player Shoutout

Tom Boerwinkle was a terrific all-around center for the Bulls in the 70s. 11.5/14.4/5 per 36 for his career. He had two seasons where he averaged better than 8 assists per 36 and three with 15 or more rebounds per 36. Bailey Howell was a double-double forward and had a good run in Detroit, eventually winning two titles with the Russell Celtics. Darrall Imhoff was a solid rebounder in the Russell-Chamberlain years. Phil Jackson won a title with the Knicks and was a good role player for his career. Sasha Vujacic got bullied by the entire Lakers roster but had a few decent offensive years.

Wow, I don't know who these players are except Vujacic, Jackson, and Imhoff.

I'd go with Cowens.

Cowens, easily. But RIP, Brian Williams/Bison Dele.
