Chris Bosh agrees to five-year, $118M deal to return to the Miami

Retaining Bosh keeps Miami in the mix for the division title. The move looks good for the next couple seasons, as the Heat don't totally implode and let them stay relatively competitive during Wade's twilight years. If they can pick up Luol Deng, they could actually return to the Finals! However, this reminds me of the Ra$hard deal, which worked out for the first couple seasons, before paying $24M to an aging 4 who only shoots threes caught up to them. Maybe the 2017 CBA/lockout will give them an Amnesty clause to use on him...

It does however, ruin Houston's off-season. Trevor Ariza is a good player, and 4/$32M is a good deal for his talents, but it means they'll have to mostly play Parsons as a stretch 4 (if they keep him) and he sucked during his first Rockets stint. So if making Houston worse was Bosh's intention, he succeeded.

Heat back in the Finals without LBJ? That's a wishful thinking though the East in ruins. Deng is 5-10 wins gamble guy because up and downs, you just don't know which Deng you will get. Wade as well with his constant knee issues. The new big 3 will barely make it up for LBJ's presence which I thought was near 20. 50 wins would be the Heat's ceiling if everything falls perfectly right.

You probably want to compare this group of Heat to the Hawks. With Al Horford healthy, he's probably equivalent to Bosh (or nearly). Teague is still shit but he can play 30 more games than Wade and having Korver helps the backcourt out. Millsap is kinda stud and provides to be a match up problem in many games. These 4 arguably are better than Deng, Wade, and Bosh combo. Only if we can have 2010 Wade back, I'd be speaking in entirely different tone though.

Yeah, I don't think anyone that they're likely to add is putting them over the top to come out of the East, unless everyone else implodes. I expect they'll remain competitive and the Conference Finals probably aren't completely out of the question, but a fifth straight NBA Finals, without LeBron? Yeah, I don't know about that.
