Aldrich comes back, Odom out

Cole Aldrich had himself a dominant game in Las Vegas Summer League Friday. In real life, he's shown flashes of being a genuinely productive NBA player since joining the Knicks. And right after Aldrich pulled down 14 rebounds in the Knicks' Summer League win over Dallas, the Knicks gave him a new deal, presumably for the veteran's minimum.

The Knicks signed Lamar Odom to a non-guaranteed deal at the end of last season hoping he'd prove his worth over the summer. Guess he didn't:
July 11, 2014-NYK President Phil Jackson announced today that the team has waived forward Lamar Odom.

Odom to Lakers!!!!!!!

Nope.

It's sounding like Odom's NBA career is pretty much over. It's a shame that it crashed and burned the way that it did, but hopefully he can keep his head on straight and beat some of the demons that he's been battling in his personal life in recent years.
