And some other junk too:
The Dallas Mavericks have reacquired center Tyson Chandler from the New York Knicks, sources have confirmed to ESPN.com's Marc Stein and Jeff Goodman.
The Mavericks, who immediately made reacquiring Chandler one of their priorities after their first-round playoff exit against San Antonio, have completed a trade with the Knicks that was clinched by agreeing to take back the contract of New York's out-of-favor guard Raymond Felton as well.
The trade cost Dallas two starters -- point guard Jose Calderon and center Samuel Dalembert -- along with prized young point guard Shane Larkin, reserve guard Wayne Ellington and the 34th and 51st picks in Thursday's draft.

I'm hearing the Knicks are trying to move Dalembert and Larkin in a separate deal, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Still a decent move for the Mavericks. The Knicks appear to be in desperation mode in the wake of Melo opting out.

Uhm, please slap me so that I know how to feel about this trade.

Is Phil Jackson giving up on Melo?
I like this for the Mavericks though they should have kept him when they won the ship.

Definitely a win win. Dallas rectifies the mistakes of letting Tyson go as well as signing an aging no defense Calderon long term. Losing #34 hurts but that's literally the biggest negative consequence. If they keep most of their vets and add a good SF, they should win 50+ next year. Harris/Ellis/Deng/Dirk/Chandler is arguably the worst case scenario and spacing aside, is an upgrade.
With or without Melo, NY is better off. Calderon is way better than Felon and his shooting should make him a good triangle point guard. The picks and Larkin are okay assets and while Chandler is better than Dally, he had written out his welcome and is paid like a fourth as much. Ellington is filler.
Both teams improve short term and long. Being on the hook for Calderon til 2017 bites for New York but he might actually be useful. Mavs clear 2015 space while improving defensively.

I just don't understand the Knicks perspective of this trade.
Great for Mavs. The old Nowitzki and Chandler combo.

Good to see Chandler come back to Texas

Good-bye Ray....don't let the door hit your lard-ass on the way out.

A fine trade for Dallas, but the players do not look different from ones I've seen.
The Mavericks are constructed around Dirk Nowitzki for years, players are changed, but not the core.
