The Cleveland Cavaliers and David Blatt have agreed upon a contract for him to become their next head coach.
The Cavaliers also had Tyronn Lue as one of their final candidates.
Blatt comes to the NBA from Maccabi Tel Aviv and also considered taking a job with the Golden State Warriors as assistant coach.
Blatt becomes the Cavaliers' third coach in three seasons, replacing Mike Brown who succeeded Byron Scott.

I'm not familiar with him, but I've read some good things. It continues the trend of looking outside of the same old faces that have been playing musical chairs with NBA coaching gigs for the past decade plus, so it's a fresh approach if nothing else.

I tend to say he's been the best coach of a professional basketball team outside the NBA for quite some time.

David Blatt is a successfull coach at Europe. He made Maccabi Tel Aviv Euroleague champions last year, with an average starting 5 (Tyrese Rice, Ricky Hickman, Devin Smith, Guy Pnini and Sofoklis Schortsanitis). They defeated a Real Madrid that consisted a starting five of Sergio Rodriguez, Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Llull, Nikola Mirotic and Ioannis Bourousis.
They also eliminated a powerful CSKA Moscow (Milos Teodosic, Viktor Khryapa, Sonny Weems, Sasha Kaun, Nenad Krstic) too.
David Blatt managed Maccabi Tel Aviv like a magician for years. I believe that he will manage Cavaliers to play a better basketball. With a first pick, I expect nice things for Cavaliers next season.
It's not about his religion/race. He is a successful coach. He even managed a Turkish team few years ago.

He will teach the Cavaliers to flop. Lead the NBA in flops per play.

If LeBron opts out and rejoins the Cavs he will be the GOAT in flopping.
