NETS TRADE VETERANS TERRY, EVANS TO KINGS FOR THORNTON
THE CANADIAN PRESSNEW YORK -- The Brooklyn Nets acquired guard Marcus Thornton from the Sacramento Kings for Jason Terry and Reggie Evans on Wednesday, removing two little-used veterans from their aging roster and hoping a younger one can rediscover his scoring touch.
Let's get busy! More trade please!

Doesn't seem to make much sense for Sacramento. Even if you consider that they are getting veterans, Reggie Evans is unstable. I think they could have done a better job if they just wanted Thornton's contract to disappear.
I agree without, still waiting and getting impatient on the "blockbuster" trades.

FYI Joel Anthony was already traded to the Celtics in a three team deal.

I think they just had to because Thornton was extremely unhappy about being benched behind rookie Mclemore.

Pretty much your basic "Let's swap players who aren't working out for us and hope that a change of scene makes everything better" kind of deal. The Kings weren't going anywhere this season anyway, but I'll predict it doesn't do much to turn around the fortunes of the struggling/up-and-down Nets.

Thornton just needed a new area code desperately, and we broke up his $8M into more movable pieces. There's a chance we might buy Terry out from what I hear. Saved almost $1M immediately, and every dollar counts for resigning Isaiah Thomas without hitting luxury tax territory (assuming Gay opts in for $19M).

Dunno why New Orleans dealt him in the first place. He seemed like a very capable scorer and a breakout star when he was here

WE??? WE?? What could you possibly have to do with their office decisions ? God I can't explain how I hate when some "wannabe" uses we for his fav teams actions. Make you sound freaking ridiculous.

On topic, reagardless of the subcar season, Thornton is probably gonna be pretty useful from this point on. Can't say the same for Terry and Evans.
