Really nice to see him win. But I think there is someone that is more deserving to win that award, guys like Avery Bradley, Serge Ibaka, Larry Sanders, Tony Allen..

More deserving than the anchor of the second best defense?
Tue Apr 23, 2013 2:28 pm
I think Joel Anthony didn't reach the minimum games played to be considered for the award.

I believe it was a three way race between Gasol, Duncan, and Noah? Couldn't have gone wrong with any of them imo.

I'd have gone with Duncan, both as my pick and prediction, but Gasol's not undeserving himself.

Had it gone to a C, I'd given it to Noah, had it been Memphis, I'd given it to Tony Allen. Not that high on Gasol's defense.

SORE LOSER:
“It sucks,” James said. “It sucks. It sucks.”
James was asked if his candidacy for other awards — notably the MVP — hurt his chances.
“I don’t know,” James said. “It definitely sucks, though. Finishing second? Who wants to finish second?”
Was this his best defensive season?
“Probably,” James said. “I mean, I guard everybody on the floor. I don’t know if there’s one player in NBA history who’s guarded one through five (positions). It’s over with now, but that’s cool.”
Would never see Kobe acting like this.

Damn, he has stolen numerous awards and yet he rants about it? Come on.

And here's your another SORE LOSER:
"I've been second my whole life," Durant told Sports Illustrated. "I was the second-best player in high school. I was the second pick in the draft, I've been second in MVP voting three times. I came in second in the Finals. I'm tired of being second. I'm not going to settle for that. I'm done with it."
LoL

I don't get how LeBron finished second, ahead of guys like Noah, Sanders, Allen - guys who play hard every possession. Sure LeBron can guard different positions, but he doesn't shut down any of those. You're gonna be MVP, relax.

Uhm, Rodman?

LeBron winning a title doesn't change a thing. Once a choking bitch still a bitch.

I'd have still taken Duncan ahead of both of them.

Tim Duncan lead the league in defensive rating, ranked 4th in DWS and his stats (per game & per 36 mins) in def. rebounding and blocks didn't look too shabby.

It would have been well justified.

Uhm, Rodman?
Magic Johnson also comes to mind.

To my recollection, Magic Johnson didn't guard players at all five positions all that often.
Mon Apr 29, 2013 11:25 am
Or even at just one position.

Since you guys know so little about basketball and defense, how about Russell Westbrook? He stopped Kevin Durant singlehandedly from winning another scoring title.
Mon Apr 29, 2013 9:23 pm
So Beverly just made a great assist to Durant.
Mon Apr 29, 2013 9:54 pm
Patrick Beverley, there's your Defensive Player of the Year.
Mon Apr 29, 2013 11:22 pm
Beverly also assisted Adrian Wojnarowski in remembering how to write something that's readable.

Beverly's assist almost cost Jeremy Lin's life. And KD should be locked up in a jail for attempted murder.
Yup, DPOY.
