2013 NBA All-Star Weekend: Sears Shooting Stars

Postby Andrew on Fri Feb 15, 2013 10:19 pm

The first event for All-Star Saturday Night, tipping off the East vs West competition.

Eastern Conference

Team Bosh: Chris Bosh, Dominique Wilkins, Swin Cash

Team Lopez: Brook Lopez, Muggsy Bogues, Tamika Catchings

Western Conference

Team Harden: James Harden, Sam Cassell, Tina Thompson

Team Westbrook: Russell Westbrook, Robert Horry, Maya Moore

A hard event to pick as the halfcourt shot has been the downfall of several teams who appeared to be the favourites in years gone by. I'm going to have to go with Team Westbrook, though if they don't win I'm guessing it'll be Team Harden. Looking forward to seeing Muggsy out there.

Haha. Bogues, Horry, and Dominique. This makes it a must watch competition. (Y)

Seeing the retired players back out there is definitely the highlight of the event. It is impressive when a team completes a round in record time with a great shooting performance, but it can get ugly when they reach the halfcourt shot.

I'm going with Team Harden. As Andrew already said, this competition is unpredictable due to the halfcourt shot. I'm thinking Robert Horry will play a crucial role for Team Westbrook, it being the halfcourt shot.

As usual, the halfcourt shot was the killer. Very impressive time by Team Westbrook in the first round but they gave it away in the championship round.

Great. Bosh does it as a third wheel again. It seems he knows his place quite well.
