I am from Hong Kong and there's not many broadcast a week.....everytime we just got teams like lakers, mavs, or kings on tv
so i don't got much chance to see suns game

but i noticed from the stats that penny is performing quite well this season

yes, he may not scoring too many points nowadays, but his rebounds and assists are good in recent games, i think his game has changed a bit

Yes, his game changed a lot. A biggest factor for that was the injury. Also, he's no longer a point guard. Even though he's looking to shoot more, I still see him dish out some amazing passes. The Suns are actually playing well right now. If they keep it up, they should get to the playoffs. (they have a better chance of getting to the playoffs than the Lakers)

You could say that he never became the star that we all thought he'd be back in the mid to late 90s, but I still think he's far from washed up. He may never regain the All-Star status and hype that he once had, but he can still be a good player, and a key contributor for the Suns.

yer i remember him back i nthe orlando days, said to be the best player at that time after jordan of course, even got compared to him, i thought he was more of a magic johnson back then, a tall point guard, coz truly he is a point guard, but he can points on the board

he won't be an all star again unless he was traded to another team and become the leader again! in suns, he doesn't get much chance to shoot!

Of course, he's not the main man in Phoenix so he's not able to put up All-NBA type numbers, especially in points per game. But do you think he would regain his All-Star form if he were to be traded?

if he were to go to a team with a couple of consistent outside shooters and a reliable post game, i think he would be able to put up solid all around numbers that might get him all star consideration. i think he really benefitted in orlando from having some long range shooters as well as shaq, because the combination of those things gave him more freedom as a penetrator than he's had since then and it allowed him to be more of a creator off the dribble. in alot of the magic games i watched back then, most teams seemed to bring the double team to him to stop his driving but would then try to rotate back quickly to cover the perimeter shooters and also the middle, but without the shooters and a real post presence teams seem more willing to keep the double on him and force him to give up the ball or try to force his way into a shot. haven't seem him play in a game in a few years, but that's what i noticed since the old magic team began to break up.

i think penny is good at penetrating a few seasons ago, because his dribble and speed are great! but after his injury, i don't think he's as quick as in the past, so i guess he won't get many points even if he's traded. i think 15-16 ppg would be his number in a weak team

but i do think his rebound and assist number would increase dramatically in a weak team because his vision is still there! it's possible for him to get 15 ppg, 6 rpg and 7 apg in a season. maybe he will be chosen to be an all star again!

I think he's adjusted to being a second or third fiddle though, better than just a role player but not the leader either. I doubt he'll be an All-Star (especially if he remains a Sun) but he can still be a good player.

well!! i remember a few seasons ago, penny was one of the 'New Jordan'

and he actually beat jordan in the 96 playoff!! i think he's the best of all the 'New Jordan'...........do u agree?

Are you sure you're not thinking of the 1995 Playoffs? The Bulls won the championship in 1996, and Jordan didn't have a terrible series against the Magic in 1996 (neither did the Bulls, who won the series 4-0).

There were more Penny/Magic comparisons, at least in terms of their respective games, then there were Penny/MJ comparisons. I'd say as far as "Next Jordans" go, Kobe Bryant or Grant Hill would be the best. But in reality, neither are next Jordans - they are Kobe Bryant and Grant Hill. Both have/had a better chance at rivalling MJ's accomplishments that Kendall Gill, Harold Miner, Billy Owens or any of the other "next Jordans" had/have.

Anfernee Hardaway has to stay in Phoenix and continue as is.

1. He has little trade value because of his contract.
2. He allows Stephon Marbury to play off the ball, where Stephon is his best.

If he's getting 15ppg, he's getting more than enough, because those 15ppg will combine with Amare's and Marion/Marbury's 40+.

If Anfernee wants to be an All-Star he needs to become a shooter, he can't drive or play like he used to and be successful. He needs to provide a perimeter threat since the Suns seem to have none. The Suns already have a developing low post game, and scorers, they need a shooter to take pressure off.

As age and injuries came down on Penny, I don't think he can shoot very well. I mean he can hit, but not enough to be a threat.
