Potential NBA player from my town.

He's a senior in high school but is commited to UCLA. He is a top 10 high school prospect in the country, and is a versatile player. He hangs out with my best friends little brother, and I've met him a few times. Never balled with him, but just thought this was cool and something I should share. Keep an eye out for Kyle Anderson. Sure, he's not a guaranteed NBA player, but sky is the limit for this kid. We'll see how his college career goes.

If I was 2 years older I would have played him in high school. His uncle lived behind me and he is no longer in the NBA because of meshooting him in the knee with an arrow.

Cool. I believe Stevan played against Andrew Bogut at one point many years ago.

Didn't want to start a new thread but I played ball with this guy at the gym today. I believe he was in the Warriors summer league team too. He goes to the local LA fitness and let's just say he was flat out unguardable. Athletic, good shooter, awesome defender, and a ballhog. He was dunking over people, doing windmills on fast breaks, pulling up and shooting from near half court. I stripped him once and he complimented me on my shot, said I had good form. My team beat his team twice. We had to double team him everywhere because he was shooting over everyone. Needless to say it was a good experience, and showed that even at THAT good, he probably won't make an NBA team.

Yeah, that is cool. If he's that good then I'd have to believe he's at least got an outside shot of making the league. He may have to wait for the opportunity but if the talent is there, it'll like come along at some point.

If nothing else, sounds like you were able to play in some fun, intense pickup games. (Y)

That's cool! I've met Kosta Koufos when he was in high school. He went to GlenOak which is really close to my school. Then a few years later I got to shoot with him (or at least at the same basket) when he was working out at Walsh University. It's amazing how good he was and he barely plays in the NBA. That just shows you how good the pros are.

It's always cool to know someone who makes it to the pros in any sport!

speaking of players from my town, i had a former NBA player and current MLB during my high school days:

Brandon Armstrong played for the NJ Nets for three years (01-04) and he was in my Algebra Class. i even sat next to him. the last team he was on was the Warriors, which he was eventually cut.

and

C.C. Sabathia:

he was in my P.E. class. he used to be much skinner than that.

This guy went to high school at the same time as my sister:

If anyone watched the NFC championship game, 49ers vs Giants, you'll know that he messed up big time.

Was a great streetballer, then when he went to college, only averaged 3 points a game. He was very good, and could probably make the nba but he decided to play for the nbl instead :(
