Really hope I don't jinx them as this is all I have left in these playoffs, but I definitely think the Grizz close it out tomorrow night.

Fuck timeouts, this is what Stern needs to put a stop to. It's over. You lost. Give up already.

Congrats to Grizz fans. If you ask me, end of an era for San Antonio, but they always found a way to rise again. :bowdown2:

Yeah, it really does feel like the end of an era. Texas is gonna be quiet in the near future. Congrats Memphis.

Not a bad regular season at all for the Spurs but the Grizzlies were deserved winners. As The X and I have discussed - go Shane Battier! Great to see him back and help the team advance. Very fitting.

As for Spurs, they may not be contenders next season but with the right moves, they could be back in the mix in coming seasons. Biggest question is where they will find someone to fill Duncan's shoes.

Worst first seed ever? There have been a few upsets in the past but this year's western conference first seed Spurs particularly looked vulnerable. I have to admit I still thought this was going to be the Spurs's series until the final minute. Major props to the Grizzlies but also props to old guys who fell well short for great regular season.

100% agree. Sadly the 1 out of 100 times that this strategy actually works means we have to endure the other 99 times (N)

I'd still give it to the 2007 Mavs.

I'm with you guys. I appreciate not giving in until the final buzzer but once it gets to the point of futility, just play it out.

Hats off to the Grizzlies. Not to take anything away from them but I do wonder if things might have been a bit different if the Spurs weren't hobbled a bit by injuries that came late in the regular season and were closer to 100% when the series began. Still, they had homecourt advantage and Ginobili only missed the one game, so I'd say they had just as good a chance as Memphis to win the series. Popovich downplayed the idea of shaking things up next year but it'll be interesting to see what happens, once the lockout situation is resolved.

"What they did in Memphis is beyond comprehension," said Popovich. "There should be a trade committee that can scratch all trades that make no sense. I just wish I had been on a trade committee that oversees NBA trades. I'd like to elect myself to that committee. I would have voted no to the L.A. trade."

He did, that's why Lamrock is quoting it now. It seems to have turned out alright for Memphis after all, though I'd suggest the Lakers still got the better end of the deal.

Unless of course, the Grizzlies make it through to face the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals and Pau, unable to bear the thought of beating his little brother, sabotages the series for the Lakers.

Badger, if the Thunder even make it out of Memphis, Dallas will beat the living shit out of them. Did you watch any games recently?
