You can see how faulty it is too I suspect.

How could that formula be faulty

Aside from the obvious lack of minutes anywhere in the equation?

Well that might make it a little fairer for the people who produce in very little playing time.

((PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO)) / G

I think a better one (if still flawed) would be:

((PP48 + RP48 + AP48 + SP48 + BP48) - (FGAP48 - FGMP48) + (FTAP48 - FTMP48) + TOP48)) / G

Old Scale (through 12-13-2002):
Kevin Garnett - 29.9
Kobe Bryant - 27.5
Tracy McGrady - 27.5
Tim Duncan - 25.2
Ben Wallace - 21.8
Grant Hill - 20.4
Allen Iverson - 18.6
Jerry Stackhouse - 17.5
Rip Hamilton - 16.4
Michael Jordan - 14.5
Amare Stoudemire - 12.6
Stromile Swift - 12.1

New Scale:
Grant Hill - 1.64
Kevin Garnett - 1.53
Tracy McGrady - 1.53
Tim Duncan - 1.36
Ben Wallace - 1.32
Kobe Bryant - 1.31
Stromile Swift - 1.23
Rip Hamilton - 1.18
Michael Jordan - 1.04
Jerry Stackhouse - 0.995
Amare Stoudemire - 0.96
Allen Iverson - 0.91

While this formula puts too much emphasis on missed shots, it does give a better representation of how a player is using their time on the court.

Though a better solution might be:
(((PP48) - ((FGAP48 - FGMP48) + (FTAP48 - FTMP48)/2)) + ((RP48 + AP48 + SP48 + BP48) - (FP48/2 + TOP48))) / G

Now Scale Gives:
Grant Hill - 1.62
Kevin Garnett - 1.52
Tracy McGrady - 1.499
Tim Duncan - 1.35
Kobe Bryant - 1.29
Ben Wallace - 1.28
Stromile Swift - 1.18
Rip Hamilton - 1.10
Michael Jordan - 0.99
Jerry Stackhouse - 0.97
Allen Iverson - 0.91
Amare Stoudemire - 0.88

One flaw I see is in the Assists/Blocks/Steals part. Turnovers should subtract from Assists and Fouls from Blocks/Steals. I'll test it later. Even though there's nothing that reduces Rebounds importance. But I have some other solutions up my sleeve.

If you're worried about missed shots you could always multiply points by the field goal percentage. That way an Iverson-like 30 points on 30% shooting would be roughly equivalent to a Shaq/Ming-like 20 points on 50% shooting. You'd have to change the formula up but that might be better.

U said 3th place MVP = Gary Payton, so what is he doing on the 2nd team, U placed Iverson over payton so that doesnt make sense

I changed my MIP vote to Desmond Mason and Richard Hamilton because of their massive jumps in every category. (Rip is playing better in fewer minutes, some Jordan factor :?)

i'm was never really sure about this, so i figured i'd put out here:

for the all rookie team and i guess for the rest of them all great at something teams:

does the nba put together the team by position or just by the best 5, regardless the position?

Where is Doug Christie's love? He's leading the league in steals. I believe he deserves more than defensive 2nd team
