He still pulls like 30 minutes off the bench, what difference does it make?

Crawford doubled Mike Bibby's point production last season and only had one less assist a game FROM OFF THE BENCH.
Assist totals aren't a correlation for being a super PG, especially when the assist totals are as small as Bibby and Crawford's are. The point guard directs a lot of what the offense runs. With Bibby on the floor, the team's offense is inferior (in part to his offense devolving into spot-up shooting), but the defense is minimally better (1.03 vs. 1.09).
In fact, the most efficient roster Atlanta rolled out last year included Bibby AND Crawford in the back court, with Johnson, Smith and Horford in the front court. It really wouldn't matter too much who started at PG for the team though. Considering a scorer like Crawford is a valuable commodity off the bench, he's probably better suited there.

He also played 31-32 mpg vs 26-27 for Bibby.

Well, that's good. I thought Crawford was playing less than Bibby. At least he's getting at least as much time in as Bibby if not a lot more.

To me that makes more sense because putting a guy like Marvin Williams on the bench is a small price to pay when you're playing Jamal Crawford. Didn't know Johnson didn't play combo guard. I just found out hes a swingman instead of a combo guard. I keep confusing Crawford and Johnson for some reason. I think their both combo guards, but JJ's a swingman.

^JJ plays the 1,2, or 3 comfortably.
watched the Warriors & Lakers tonight. they'll rematch tomorrow on ESPN. Jeremy Lin FINALLY got minutes in the preseason. got robbed of like 3 assists but he had a nice 3 point play. finshed with 3 pts, 3 rebs, 4 assists in limited minutes. curry turned his right ankle. should be okay for wednesday. hopefully keith smart gives charlie bell another DNP so Lin will get the start on national tv.
