Pretty good selection there, though I'm surprised
Gaines' gamewinner took the top spot.

So did I. He's pretty much nobody, but in one game, he was outstanding. To honor such a player the best play of the season, alone is a surprise.

It was a great shot but putting it at number one is banking heavily on the "feel-good" angle of a D-Leaguer getting a call-up and hitting a gamewinner, before going on to get signed for the rest of the year.

I see. That's one way to look at this situation. Though, it is really surprising when cracking the top 5 alone would have been a surprise.

Fifth or so wouldn't be unreasonable for a gamewinning shot like that. Number one may be overselling that particular play just a little bit.

Stephen Curry...

I remember watching that game and freaking out. However, the face that there was like a 40% chance of him making it diminishes it a bit. (Also Crawford's game winner a couple days later was way better)

I really liked #2. He came out of nowhere on that play. Like #7 too. Agree that #1 probably wasn't worthy. Maybe top 10 but that's it.

ONly 1 of Kobe's 6 game winners? and at 3rd? Number 1 was good, but it wasn't worth the top spot, #2 should've been one in my opinion

I was surprised at that too, but I guess they wanted to avoid players getting in the countdown too many times and just picked the one they felt was the most remarkable. If that was the goal, I think they picked well.
