Robinson Traded to Boston

Fri Feb 19, 2010 3:29 am

Multiple sources say the Knicks have reached a tentative agreement on a deal with Boston sending Nate Robinson and a second player to the Celtics for Eddie House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker. The identity of the second New York player was not immediately clear.

edit:
Nate Robinson and Marcus Landry have been dealt to Boston for Eddie House, JR Giddens and Bill Walker, according to Alan Hahn of Newsday.

NBATV reported that the Knicks will also receive a pick.

Hopefully Nate does a better job than the last backup point guard that Boston acquired from the Knicks...

Nate would probably average 58 ppg in China.

Gives up House? That guy expands the opponent's defense to 3 point line, not to mention clutch shots he can make. I don't know about Nate being helpful to the Boston. It's NYK's plan to silently terrorize the Celtics. Last year with Marbury, now Robinson.

As I said in the Knicks thread it's a weird move for the Celtics, perhaps the result of them panicking a bit and feeling they have to tinker to stay competitive. Nate Robinson can score in bunches off the bench though, so maybe he'll be the spark they need.

the celtics need to close out games, too many blown leads this year. this team is still good enough to win a ring they just need to play with a little more heart. i dont see this move helping the celtics that much, dont see it hurting them either.

Wow, Nate traded to Boston. Will he be able to back up Rondo?

Eddie House never could, so that's probably why they got Nate.

Maybe Nate can be a good piece for them, i mean the Celtics don't have the most explosive bench.

Celtics lover Bill Simmons wrote:Unfortunately, Rondo is now his team's best player, only he's not ready for the responsibility of kicking butt every game -- he gives you about two-and-a-half killer quarters and that's it -- and beyond that, he's afraid to shoot or get fouled in the final four minutes.

Nate has no problem shooting and getting fouled in the final four minutes, let alone ever, so maybe he can be a productive player for them.

Nate is an explosive player and he brings energy off the bench.

i think Garnett's health is a big factor. they need his defense bigtime. they should have beaten the Magic last time but Lewis easily drove around KG for a winning basket. how often do you see Lewis drive to the basket?

Robinson is a good acquisition. they don't have any other ball handlers off the bench other then Daniels, who's still hurt. Plus they could rest Paul Pierce & RAy ray down the stretch if Nate can become a reliable 25 min+ guy

This is wrong. I just think that Nate won't be in the system.

But he's immature, and has pissed off all his coaches(Brown, Isiah, D'Antoni). Won't be any different with Doc.
