is it possible that the nba referees will take their call back? i dont know the proper term but what i mean is like the referee calls a foul and the player is like "what the..? theres noo foul" and the referee is like "oh ok. sorry, no foul." i ask this cause i noticed that the players always argue with the ref whenever they dont like or there should be a call. are they just wasting their time arguing with the refs or theres a chance that the referee would take his call bacK or make a call?

It is possible for the referees to change their calls, and it has happened but it should not be because the players argued for a foul. If the referees are to change their calls, it must be based upon replays and discussing with other referees to see whether the first call was incorrect or not. If it is then it is likely that they will take the call back.

I think the reason why so many players argued with the referee is not because they wanted a call change since they know pretty well that that's not going to happen anyway, but they argued to express their thoughts on the play and to partly show their frustations against the call. The effect this has is it somewhat raised awareness in the referees. That's what I think.

Yep, I failed to say that in my first post.

It's definitely more about future calls then getting the current one changed unless there is some doubt over what actually happened. Even so, it's more a case of the referees conferencing with one another rather than listening to the player's arguments.

Tnx for the answers guys really thought there just wasting their time and want to get called for technical fouls, just like the 2nd photo. it looks like his going to hit the ref.
