Shaq and orlando magic?

We had just move to florida in 1994 and shaq was playing for orlando. I was rooting for orlando in the finals but, i never even heard of shaq back then. So my first question is, how long did shaq play for orlando? And why did he stop playing for orlando? In Fact i didn't know any players for orlando, because coming from cleveland i only knew about the cavs.
