Radmanovic Traded for Morrison, Brown

Adam Morrison and reserve guard Shannon Brown to the Los Angeles Lakers for forward Vladimir Radmanovic.

Hm, kinda suprising in my eyes, I thought Vlade did well with LA.

Interesting...Radman was too inconsistant, lovely shot for a big man and all of that, but way too soft.

Does Adam still have that horrible porn-stache? It's LA man, have a shave.

I can understand Radmanovic becoming expendable with his lack of consistency but Adam Morrison doesn't strike me as an ideal replacement. Playing with a couple of All-Stars in Kobe and Gasol should give him plenty of open looks though, so perhaps he'll work out better with the Lakers but for now they traded a player who's shooting 44% from the field as well as beyond the arc for one who's 34% from downtown (which is respectable) and 36% from the field overall (not so much). If it's a consistent jumpshot and toughness they're after, they might as well have kept Radmanovic.

Morrison played for a loser team, and when he was drafted the Bobcats threw the rock to him and it was too much. Maybe now in LA he can develope a bit because he's not even the 4th scorer of the team. He can be a good bench player scoring 7-10 points a game

Adam Morrison has toughness....pre-haircut, he could've been a member of Iron Maiden....now that's toughness

in the end, this deal is a salary dump for the Lakers....I can't see Morrison playing this season, as I can't see him beating out Ariza & Walton at SF....hopefully he gets a chance though due to injuries that might happen....

Shannon Brown could be the sleeper in this deal....

Phil Jackson rarely plays players who have just joined his team... looks at players of the past who have joined mid-season apart from players who have perhaps already played for Jax. It's good for Walton though, more minutes and more chance to show off how good he really is for the team. :)

Adam looks like the psycho version of The Cable Guy now with that new haircut. Yeah, it's L.A. and I think he need to bring back the Tommy Morrison floppy hair now.

I really dont watch morrison playing but do you honestly think that walton is better than him?...i think its a better deal to our LA...vlad rad's shooting could be complemented by sasha and the others...and he was not used in the last few games and still it doesnt have a big effect on losing him...

yes. Morrison only ever had his shooting and scoring, and now he doesnt even have that. Walton is much better.

morrison was a college standout so with phil's good team play philosophy i think adam will really complement well with the lakers rotation..

This trade also benefits the Bobcats I think. Radmanovic should be a good fit for them.

The question is...

Where would Shannon Brown fit on the Lakers?

What was said on my email from RealGM.com.

Radmanovic never became a consistently productive member of Phil Jackson's rotation. Radmanovic has two more full seasons left on his contract with the Lakers under a mid-level exception. Morrison who struggled as a pro hasone full season left on his rookie contract.

Maybe Morrison may pull a J.J. Redick on us by just shooting three's like he's doing finally in Orlando.

If I recall, Morrison was more a scorer than a shooter while he was at Gonzaga. He just had the knack to put the ball in the whole whether it be floaters, jumpers, hooks, etc.

J.J. Redick just "happens" to be on a NBA team who's primary focus is to shoot 3-pointers

I disagree with most comments here regarding brown. I figure brown to be a wild card in this trade. He could be the guy that chases down troublesome guards on opposing teams. IMO, Morrison might have a little bit more trouble finding a spot in the Lakers rotation since they already have Sasha and Walton are playing similar roles similar to what Morrison could possibly offer. Plus, Sasha and Walton already have long contracts. If they don't move Morrison this off-season. I don't think he'll be back once his contract expires. This move was probably made to clear cap space, nothing more.

After this season though, I hope the Lakers can keep Odom, perhaps with less money. Since there will be a lot of big name free agents this off-season.

Perhaps, but Brown also has to beat out Vujavic for minutes off the bench as well as Farmar, so opportunities may be scarce. Morrison probably still has a better chance at getting minutes especially while Bynum's out and Gasol has moved over to centre, opening up some time up front.
