I think he's good but still. Ballislife and Hoopmixtapes always overhype people. Examplee: Chris Walker.

Pretty sure if he pulled off some of those dunks in an NBA contest, he'd give everyone a run for their money.

it's not like it's a highlight video. It's more of a video of him dunking in practice or in events.

The kid can definitely fly that's for sure.

How can you overhype a dunk in a dunk contest? LOL

JAWSFreelao's obviously saying if he's NBA talent in the future. Geez guys, give him his space.
That said if you allowed non-NBA dunkers into NBA dunk contest, NBA players would have hard time winning it over non NBAers. We've seen a lot of crazy dunks off the NBA, it's understandable, some of them make living making cool dunks professionally. This kid, Derrick Jones, indeed is the case. He's a better dunker than any NBA player I know. I mean, did he(in that vid) just dunk from freethrow line while doing some crazy shit in this air?
I am just hoping he doesn't over-abuse his body. Also if he's NBA possible talent, I hope he doesn't only focus on dunking but overall aspect of the game so we could see him in the NBA someday.

For the record, I'm not advocating letting non-NBA players into the NBA dunk contest, nor am I making any assumptions about Derrick Jones' ability to succeed in the NBA. I'm just talking about his dunking prowess, and suggesting that if he were ever in an NBA contest and pulled off those dunks, he's most likely win.
Some of the dunks he pulled off are ones that I'd like to see in the contest, because they're new twists on, and combinations of, great dunks of the past. I'd like to see more of that as opposed to props and gimmicks, which have their place but have definitely become overused.

Sheesh, everyone wanna take a bite out of JAWS already well-chewed ###? SMH. I was indeed talking about if he was NBA talent. No doubt in my mind he's a great dunker. But like I've said, Ballislife and Hoopmixtapes do overhype these high schoolers, you can't deny that. Let's take a look at Chris Walker again.
Obviously, very impressive right? Wrong. Under the Florida Gators, he's posted the following numbers:
4.7 points, 3.5 rebounds in 14.6 minutes for 2014-15.
1.9 points, 1.3 rebounds in 4.8 minutes in 2013-14.
So, hmmmm.
Not saying Derick Jones would fizzle out like that, not at all. But it just shows you how over-hyped and over-estimated these kids can get sometimes.

No one's chewing you out, or even really disagreeing with you on the point you're making. It's more that your first post came off as a response to "here are some cool dunks", whereas I'm guessing you were actually expanding the conversation into other aspects of his game and future prospects. Being the second post in the thread, it was a quick segue from the topic, which is basically just "check out these dunks, they'd be great to see in the NBA contest and would probably win it all".
