Seems it's gone from bad to worse.
Former NBA first-round pick Robert Swift was charged Thursday with illegal possession of a shotgun, less than a month after he was found living in a home that was raided by police as part of a drug bust.
Swift, who was the No. 12 pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in 2004, was living in a home with 54-year-old Trygve Lief Bjorkstam, who is a drug dealer. Bjorkstam has admitted to growing marijuana and dealing heroin and meth from his home. He also built a gun range in a bunker below the home and had 18 guns there to protect the drug-selling business.
According to KOMO News in Seattle, Swift was found with a sawed-off shotgun and grenade launcher in his bedroom. King County prosecutors also described Swift as a heavily armed heroin addict. A Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent said Swift admitted to being a heroin addict, but said he was not a dealer. Swift also said that he acted as the muscle to confront another dealer about a purchase that went wrong.

I remember this guy from utopia's cyberface mod. Good old NBA Live days.

Two words... GRENADE... LAUNCHER?!
Thu Dec 04, 2014 9:25 pm
He was charged with illegal posession of shotgun, but the grenade launcher was fine?
Fri Dec 05, 2014 10:07 am
Either the grenade launcher has a license or it's been proven that Swift doesn't own the grenade launcher but to the drug dealer he's staying with.

Sawed offs are usually illegal under any circumstance.
For the same irrational reasons as any guns are outlawed but I digress.
The more important thing here is that drug dealers name: Trygve Lief Bjorkstam

You can own grenade launchers with a license?
This is why America has violence problem.
And sawed-offs to my knowledge can be sawed off to a certain point. I believe three inches is the very minimum.

Why not?

Yeah good thing England has no violent crimes since they banned gun ownership there.
I believe three inches is the very minimum.
benji wishes he could reach three inches maximum.

Let me answer your question with a question of my own: Why the hell would anyone NEED a grenade launcher? And funnyyyy. I'm not saying grenade launchers and guns in general are the cause of violence crimes. I'm saying that GRENADE ******* LAUNCHERS and automatic weapons are completely unecessary for "self defense." I think a pistol or a nail gun would work just fine. We don't need hundreds of bullets to kill people. One would do just fine.
Mon Dec 08, 2014 7:03 pm
For most people, a grenade launcher is probably overkill in the self defense department. Once you're tangled up in some rather serious criminal activity however, I guess it's just part and parcel.
Mon Dec 08, 2014 7:44 pm
All weapon restrictions should be lifted off. How many crimes do you see happen that involves grenade launcher or auto rifle? If that makes a person feel safe, then he should be allowed to own one(unless a person has extensive violence history, just my opinion).

See that way of thinking, that's why Andrew is an admin and JAWSFreelao isn't, gotta plan big.
U ain't gonna scare a bunch of needy drug fueled Gs with a pistol or nail gun, u nid heavy fire fucking power.
Mon Dec 08, 2014 9:15 pm
Grenade launchers are child's play. I'm all about orbital ordinance these days.

To launch grenades, obviously, it's not like you can shoot arrows with it.

Gun bans never solved anything, those who have them illegally won't all of the sudden stop using them (Britain is an excellent example).
Over here you have to pass law test, shooting test and disassembly/reassembly of the weapon type you want to own.
Certain low-powered weapons can be owned once you're 18 years old.
Automatic weapons and explosive ordnance are pretty much banned here, you gotta have special licence and pass some background check, I believe.
Plus supressors and guns that mask their appearance are banned (like suitcase smg or hidden gun in cell phone).

Not what I meant Dom. And yeah I know but I'd like to pretend that people would actually obey the law for once. And if I was protecting a drug lord I'd be going all-out too, but as a regular person, I'm rather fucking terrified of the thought that if anyone had the urge to they could go on a MASSIVE killing spree with a grenade launcher.

Don't make me apply a rear naked choke on you.

That's why you could be allowed to legally own one instead of being wasted by some dude who illegally owns it.

We should probably ban murder then.
I'd imagine one of the 18 guns in the basement are probably more effective killing spree weapons than a grenade launcher. Especially if you factor in cost per round.
Tue Dec 09, 2014 4:53 pm
Oh goodness, y'all are rather harsh around here when it comes to faith in other people or respecting opinions.
Lol no rear naked chokes for me, thank you. I'm not into whatever it is you Idaho people enjoy.,

Don't get me wrong, I still read that and think "Whoa, a grenade launcher?". Still, given the whole story, what he's gotten himself caught up in, it gives it some context.
Wed Dec 10, 2014 3:55 am
True enough. I guess he needed to pack some extra heat. #WithRange
Wed Dec 10, 2014 8:53 pm
Having faith on people is not the same as putting complete trust in your government.
Grenade launchers have bad range compared to your usual assault rifle.
Wed Dec 10, 2014 9:56 pm
Unless you wanted to blow serious shit up like buildings and cars.
Wed Dec 10, 2014 10:24 pm
Just occured to me, maybe they didn't have explosive grenades to go with the launcher. Maybe they had some smoke/cs gas grenades.
