Marist head coach Jeff Bower to become Pistons GM

Stan Van Gundy's making his first major front office hire, finalizing agreement with Jeff Bower to become Detroit's GM, sources tell Yahoo.

Under Van Gundy who also works as President of Basketball Operations for Detroit, Bower will handle the day-to-day managmeent functions of the team and likely spearhead the negotiations with free agents and rookies, as well as helping to manage both scouting and analytics departments.

He did a fairly good job with New Orleans a couple of years back. A good move by Stan
