You all do know this is a list thread where everyone can pick their own award winners right?

In the case of Smart, in its own way, it's kinda amazing the Kings are 17-29 considering how little effort the team expends in anything other than fighting over possessions.

I guess you could see it that way too.

One thing I really disliked about Smart this season was hindering some players' development in favour of Has-Beens, like Aaron Brooks over Isaiah Thomas who was possibly the best player on the team for last 1/3 of last season and his teammates(esp. Cousins) enjoyed better stats with him. And I heard about Cousins and his teammates during this season showing displeasure/frustration about Smart starting Brooks over Isaiah along with some other issues. And Fredette playing heavy minutes to please crowd is the other thing. I just don't think he's doing a great job utilizing/developing/encouraging the key players.

They say Fredette was actually playing good ball for most of the season.

I actually think Drummond will deserve ROY over Lillard but the fact that Drummond plays for the crappy team from bench is bit of a concern. Lillard, a starter, posts stellar raw stats on a team with many chuckers and I don't know how many minutes of Drum's playing time comes against opponent's best bigs but If he was posting these numbers as a starter against the other team's starters, he'd be my automatic pick over Lillard. Anyways looking at his stats, I'm ecstatic about this young big. Perhaps the Heat should make a pitch for him, maybe offer Battier/Cole or something. :rimshot:

Blatche also is an interesting case. He's having a stellar season but his raw stats don't back it up for him to be the people's choice for MIP. Probably players like Vucevic or Harden will end up winning it.

And I also gotta change my WROY to Rivers.

Yeah, because the Pistons would definitely give up Drummond for Battier, Cole, or even both.

Well that's a superstition you can give up since it doesn't have anything to do with reality.

No it isn't. playing against a second unit is a lessor competition especially when your team is down by 10-20 points consistently. Lax factor.

Oh well... I am sure the Heat don't mind settling for Monroe in that case.

And I'm sure you have binders full of examples to illustrate this theory about performance drop offs in more minutes.

You must not have seen what Andre did to your husband Dwyane the other night. You think any of the "elite" bigs in the league are going to bother the greatest player in NBA history?

Re: Mid-Season Awards

The Heat consistently allows career night for opponent bigs. Sorta like the Lakers. If I heard correctly, something like 32 different players recorded a career high against the Lakers this season. It seems like it's something that all great teams go through these days.

That is why it makes it easier for me to turn down your trade offers involving Blatche in the NLSC fantasy league.

I guess so. His stats depends heavily on Lopez's foot which seems to be ok at the moment.

Since I have nowhere to complain about Keith Smart...

Isaiah Thomas was the player of the game for the Kings in their 121-112 win over the Suns on Friday, scoring 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting (4-of-5 3PTs, 7-of-7 FTs) with five rebounds, six assists and a career-high five steals, but he was benched for most of the fourth quarter for Toney Douglas.Keith Smart said some incomprehensible statement about Douglas being a better on-ball defender, which is ridiculous because Thomas gives up very little penetration as a plus-defender on the ball. Douglas went 0-for-3 with just one rebound and two assists to his name in his 13 minutes, while Kings TV guys Grant Napear and Jerry Reynolds repeatedly, almost mockingly, wondered aloud when IT would get in the game. At this point it's pretty clear the Maloof family hired Smart to purposely tank their season.

:shake: I just can't wait for this team to be moved. It's somewhat obvious what they are doing is to raise the sales value of the franchise. The team aggressively put on the sales tag.

Tyreke's contract season and is perceived as a franchise-caliber player, so Keith has pushed him(& Fredette who shouldn't dribble) to a playmaker(PG) role this season, giving him more chances than deserved. The result was disastrous as expected and players like Isaiah, and Cousins suffered greatly.
