http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/ ... ources-sayThe Chicago Bulls are exploring avenues to acquire Los Angeles Lakers forward Pau Gasol before Thursday's trade deadline, according to sources close to the situation.
The Bulls have long hoped to wedge themselves into the trade running for Orlando Magic star Dwight Howard, but sources told ESPN.com that Howard's well-chronicled lack of interest in a trade to Chicago has prompted the Bulls to switch their focus to Gasol in advance of Thursday's 3 p.m. deadline.
Sources say that the Lakers, however, have limited interest in the players Chicago would be offering, starting with Bulls forward Carlos Boozer.
Don't really know why they would do this, just Boozer would be fine for them, but the Lakers would want another piece, Gibson, Asik or maybe even more.

Moving forward with Boozer wouldn't be the worst option so long as he can remain healthy and play to the best of abilities, but if there's a chance to have Gasol instead you have to at least explore the possibility. I don't see the Lakers going for it though.

Gasol would be an awesome pickup for the Bulls, but I don't see the Lakers doing that. As much as I rate the players, any bigs they'd give up for him would be a downgrade and I'd be really disappointed if Joakim Noah (my favourite Bull) became a Laker.

I'm guessing there's not much chance of that happening, which basically extinguishes any outside hope of the Bulls being able to get Gasol. Still, when the worst that can happen is that
they say no...

i don't see anything enticing the lakers to take this deal. maybe if the Bulls include the charlotte pick

Indeed. I think it's one of those situations where a quality player is available, so they're making a pitch on the off chance the other team is foolish or desperate enough to take cents on the dollar.

Might have to pass on that one, as the Lakers would my suggestion.
