Jay Will hopes to return by 04/05

Williams setting sights on '04-05

Noteworthy:

Once Williams begins playing again, the big question will be whether he can regain the explosiveness and speed that helped him earn second-team All-Rookie honors.

Former Duke star Bobby Hurley never was the same after a near-fatal car accident ended his rookie season after just 19 games in 1993. Hurley played four more seasons in the NBA, but not at the same level as before the accident.

But rehabilitation has advanced considerably in the last 10 years, and Williams' camp is confident his hard work will pay off next year.

i think that if he does come back, like jowe once told me, he will just aim to get a title, then retire

I'm not sure if the Bulls will need him by then. They did draft a PG and he will have all season to show the Bulls what he has. If he does well, J-will better start thinking of anther team like Golden State

He'd have to sit on the bench unless van exel is willing to play off of the bench, unless they want nick at pg, jwill at sg, and jrich at sf.

Look at it this way. He tore up his hip and his knee...NFL player Priest Holmes tore up his hip, and in week one he came back and had the best game from a running back...Maybe thats not a good analogy but I hope J-Will can make a positive comeback.

I doubt that Jay Williams will be 100% through out his career,, Seriously, i think that he will end up like Grant Hill!! but retire even earlier,,

I seriously like Jay will, and i hope this wont happen, but i doubt that !

He still has a few good years left in him. I doubt he'll end up as grandfather grant.

i agree. the bulls most likely would have traded williams or crawford to acquire a decent wing player who could shoot/defend. if it didn't happen in the offseason, probably it would have happened in the season as the bulls would have been showcasing both. after listening to pax commentating on the bulls games, it seemed like he preferred crawford over williams.

It's not about the hip only though, I think he tore his ACL, his pelvis and his shoulder too... Surgeries and all... Plus the psychological FXs...
