My Chemical Romance Offer LeBron James 'Free Tix For Life' If He Signs With Knicks
Sure, his good pal Jay-Z may be a part-owner of the New Jersey Nets, and teams like the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers can also offer him pretty sweet deals. But if LeBron James signs with the New York Knicks, he'll get free My Chemical Romance tickets for life.
Yes, in a move sure to anger Cleveland Cavaliers fans — and lift the deflated hopes of Knicks supporters everywhere — MCR guitarist (and Knicks superfan) Frank Iero took to his Twitter account Sunday in an attempt to lure James, who can opt out of his deal with the Cavs this summer, to Madison Square Garden, where he will presumable resurrect the once-proud Knickerbocker franchise and bring them their first championship in nearly 40 years.
"I would like to sweeten the deal & offer LeBron free MCR tix for life if he decides to play for the Knicks next year," , before adding the hashtag "LeBronshouldbeaknick."

Can he bring his "stripper for life"?
Tue May 18, 2010 7:52 pm
I wonder what will the other teams will offer...

The same as the Knicks, the maximum contract they are allowed to offer LeBron.

I mean the other offers like the benefit of having his own stripper, stuff like that.

Everyone's been talking about his friendship with Jay-Z, Yankees cap and the rumours that his deal with Nike could increase if he plays in a bigger market, but this just goes to show that there are offers on the table that LeBron never could have dreamed of. And this is why the Magic didn't get Duncan all those years ago, all Orlando offered were free coffee and donuts. The community has to step up, simple as that.

It seems to me, the CLE fans aren't doing as much as what Heat fans are doing for Wade.
http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miam ... 2271.storyI didn't expect anything like that," he said Thursday. "I just found that out. I thought it was hilarious. But I appreciate it. I do, I really do.
I really don't see Wade going anywhere. It's not the first time nor second time, I hear this kind of positive craps from Wade on fans and organization. Besides, with lawsuit and considering how everybody near him are after his money, I think Wade will re-sign for that extra dollars. Chicago I don't think is an option, since that's where his personal problems originate despite of it being hometown.
Anyways, even if Lebron's not going to re-sign w/ Cavs, lip-service like Wade's been doing would be great for the fans, imo. It never hurts you saying simple "Thank you."

is this even legal? offering him extra shit outside of money?
Wed May 19, 2010 11:16 pm
Just a campaign to show that they want their superstars back. Nothing different from what other teams are doing, promoting their cities to land big fish. Nothing illegal in that.

I'd say so, it's not the team offering these things after all so there's no salary cap/tampering violation.

is that any different than me paying someone to go to a college of my choosing? not sure the nba has the same kind of rules or not. i would imagine there has to be some sort of rule in place to prevent hand shake agreements to lure a player to a certain team.

It would have to prove the team was involved. I doubt the Knicks with their gobs of cash have to use a strip club out of New Jersey and the guitarist for My Chemical Romance's twitter account to entice LeBron.
If anything they're probably more involved in those giant posters of LeBron in a Knicks uniform. But the Knicks have done that for years with Allan Houston, Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry...I'm sensing a theme.

As Ben said, it depends on what connections you have to the team (or school) and whether they're involved in the deal. The only really coming close to tampering is Jay-Z and even then it's more a case of making some remarks that walk the line than an open and shut case of breaking the rules.

Does Zinx of Andrew apply in this case and Lebron lands in Miami?
Thu May 20, 2010 10:23 am
Considering I've finished first and second in the last two years of daily predictions, I'd say that jinx stuff was merely a paranoid fantasy. Or it only affects the Bulls when I get my hopes up.
