...but you don't often hear stories about?
For me, I think Kenyon Martin is having an awesome season. He's played (and started) all 52 games for Denver so far, averaging almost a double-double with 12.1 points and 9.5 rebounds. He's playing a great role for Denver at the moment. After his injury problems last year, it's nice to see he's still playing at a high level.
Anyone else like that you think fits the bill?

Martin's playing worse than he did last year. And playing at the same level (average) as he has for most of his career. Hitting the glass more but scoring at 49% (blech) compared to 52% last year.
Marc Gasol obviously. Brook Lopez. Two second year big men establishing themselves as legit All-Stars being overshadowed by other narratives about their teams.
Wait, add Kevin Love making that three.
Andrei Kirilenko finally returning to form.
Corey Maggette. Nazr Mohammed. Luke Ridnour. Chris Andersen. Nick Collison. Jared Dudley. Jason Williams.

Future hall-of-famer Anthony Randolph has been excellent when healthy. Imagine how good he would be playing with consistent rotations and at his natural position!

Andrew Bogut, Luke Ridnour, Carl Landry, Craig Smith, Mareese Speights, Nene

Landry's a beast, and should be an MIP candidate, but he's been receiving some love by the media as of late a la Shane Battier. While Landry is one of the best players in the league, he could be like Battier and become almost overrated by being portrayed as underrated so often.

Bogut had an amazing game against the Knicks the other night

Jason Kidd, Brendan Haywood (In Dallas), Dirk Nowitzki

Finally, somebody is talking about Jason Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki! You'd think these guys played in the Ukraine based on the press they get.

Who?

Have to agree with badreligionau about K-Mart. He carried the team while Melo and Billips were sidelined and I just love it when he shoots the 3 ball.

Jennings and Evans, and many other fellow rookies. I didnt expect much of this class but they are good
Sun Feb 28, 2010 1:50 am
Jennings was good early on in the season, but since then he has been in a big scoring slump.
Stephen Curry is also having a stellar rookie season.

Darren Collison, Marcus Thornton are pretty darn good. T-Mac seems to be getting back into rythm. Ive watched him play a couple of games and he dropped 23 pts last night in only 25 mins. I mean of course hes not 100% and jumpin wit the elevation he did b4 but hes doin alright.

Would it be fair to say Russell Westbrook is flying under the radar a bit due to Kevin Durant's form?
He had 18 points and 15 assists against Minnesota yesterday. 16 double-doubles for the year and had a triple-double against the Wolves a few nights ago.
Not to mention his rebounding. Ranked equal 5th in the league for rebounds by guards.

Yea Bogut is playing like a man possessed. I gotta say Andray Blatche and the Wizards are playing pretty well too to be w/o their former star players Jamison and Caron.

Agreed. It's hard to believe that Collison has got people talking about trading CP3, but he's been an excellent pickup.

Agreed, he's been a bit overshadowed by Tyreke Evans and Brandon Jennings, with the Warriors' record not helping much.

No, got tons of exposure from the rookie game.

Stellar? Really? He had a great January sure, but the rest of his season...

Marc Gasol has been one of the best centers in the west this year.

Watching the game last night, I think that Drew Gooden was a really good pick up for the Clippers.

Dude, you and I would have had a great game against those frauds posing as the Knicks.
The player who's impressed me the most is Durant. The sky's the limit for that young man.

Well, "stellar" might not be the best word to use there but still he's having a good season as a rookie.

Yeah I really like Dallas right now. I mean they already didnt look bad before all-star break. Everybody is talking about Denver and LAL in the west but I think now this current Mavericks team is also a team to worry about. I definitely wouldnt be surprised if they made it to the finals this season. And if I were LAL or DEN i would try to make a run for the one seed so I would not have to face this team in the second round of the playoffs.
