Look at the Pistons' record so far. They are 2-4 and the their only wins were against Memphis (expected) and Orlando when Dwight had fouled out early and suffered from a sore shoulder. I thought BG and CV would make Detroit a contender, but they are looking like Allen Iverson is still on the team. I guess Allen Iverson was just a scapegoat for this team's downfall. Still it's a little too early to be making such predictions, the 07 Mavs that made it to the finals started 0-4.

Exactly. Then why are you doing that ?

Boredom...

Well, the Mavs that started 0-4 lost in the first round - though they did end up winning 67 games. No, the additions did not make them a better team, but six games is too few to base things on.

I don't think they'll prove to be as disruptive as Allen Iverson turned out to be in Detroit as neither needs to dominate the ball the way Iverson does with Charlie V not being a ballhandler and Gordon being an adept catch and shoot player if need be. Gordon also seems more willing to come off the bench if needed so that tocixity won't be there in the team's chemistry. I'd say they're capable of helping the Pistons being a decent team when everyone's healthy, but a contender? Not quite yet.

well you can't really make the decision yet. Rip has played in one game this year, so there's 15-18 points we've missed out on these last 5 games. Tayshaun has a ruptured disc in his back, so there goes your glue guy.
Really this Pistons team has been a lineup of:
C Wallace
PF Villanueva
SF Jerebko
SG Gordon
PG Stuckey
Bench Bynum/very little Daye
Once they get the team together you'll be able to make a decision on if it's helping, but right now I don't like how they've been playing. Yeah they beat Orlando, but they've been getting hit with 40+ pt quarters once very game and have had to fight back to get it close. It's been alot of the 3 guards going one-on-one which isn't helping anyone. It was good to see Villanueva drop 18 in the 4th on Orlando the other night, he's struggled to start the year.

I told all of you. They've actually been better than I expected. Rodney Stuckey makes me want to choke a bitch though. Austin Daye needs to be playing 40 minutes a game.

Why would you have ever thought that?

He's laying more bricks then Eric Snow, yet he's grabbed 7+ rebounds in 3 straight games, so I give him props, he's finding ways to help even though the jay is broke.
Daye actually got to play the other night. He produced too. What a surprise?
But for some reason John Kuester, the offensive genius, has the idea that Jonas Jerebko is a better fit. I think he can be a useful defensive forward off the bench right now, but no way in hell is he a starter. With him AND Ben Wallace out there it's like playing 3-on-5.

Have you even watched a game or read a recap, or even looked at a fucking box-score?
Dont be too afraid of doing a touch of research before you post some dumshit thread

instead of signing CV and BG, the Pistons should've just tanked so they would have the #1 draft pick and cap space to be an attractive 2010 FA spot

Why the fuck are you still here

I never thought CV would make them better. Ben Gordon adds a good 6 man, but that hasn't turned out so far, since Rip is injured.

I think it's too early to judge if they're a better team or not, just yet. The Pistons obviously miss key players like Rip and Tayshaun. Rip can provide more firepower on offense while Tayshaun is lock down defender.

...and Gordon

Yeah. That was a recent one, Gordon being injured. I think it's going to be awhile when they all get healthy and play together, but when they do, I think they'll be at least better than last year with Iverson. At least that's my guess for now.

You sound like a sideline reporter. Definitely not afraid of stating the obvious...

I think the fact that Villanueva played well last season and averaged a career best in scoring got people a little overexcited about his addition to Detriot.
