I guess a coaching change wouldn't hurt, but they haven't exactly had the best squads in team history these past few years. They were doing alright for most of this year, though like a few other teams this year, a few losses early in the season proved to be costly when the battles for the 8th seed became so close.

Yeah I don't think Rudy (hehe, who remembers Rudy of "fat albert"? anyways ) was the problem. Just wait untill Griffin, Yao and Francis gel even more. They have a really strong nucleas and will be tough to beat if they stick together.

It's a shame, Tomjanovich is a good coach. At least he's staying close...NBA fan's right, they have a great nucleus that can only just get better.

I read the Rockets will ask Van Gundy for an interview, I wonder who else they'll interview, maybe Wilkins? Although he didn't do well with the Raptors the past season, he had a pretty succesful Cleveland team which also had a young PG-C duo in Price and Daugherty.

I don't think so. I think if the Rockets can implement a similar system to what San Antonio or Sacramento has (run the offense through post ups and cuts, allowing the big men to set up the little guys) i think that would be better for Houston than Francis sacrificing his confidence in scoring. Steve Francis is an exceptional scorer, and Yao ming (from what I've seen) is a great passer. So why would they have to be more traditional when it might hurt not only their games and confidence, but their teams?

For that to happen, Francis at least has to get the ball in the post, instead of going for the one on one all the time. Same with Mobley. What you say makes sense and would be a good idea for a team with a setup like Houston's, but still they need to get the ball to Ming first, and that didn't happen too much the past season.

Colin, that makes no sense.
It isn't as if Yao plays selfish. Yao actually, in my opinion, got way too little shots for a guy shooting 50+% from the field and being 7'5 playing people often 5" or more smaller than himself. Why would you (player A) demand the ball back from such a scoring threat? Oh right... because you (player A) are selfish. And that's where it goes wrong. Now it's understandable in Yao's rookie season for this to happen, but as he develops, he's going to have to get the ball more often and get more shots, he'll likely be able to develop into at least a 20+ppg scorer.

I wasn't referring to Yao giving them the ball. I was thinking about Franchise. He might think "Well, if I gave him the ball I might get a better and more high percentage shot."

well, i now that Rudy T had a big incident while he was a player but what did really happen ? why was he punched ? did the player was suspended after, did he excuse or said he regret ? I've just heard some little parts of this story but never really knew what it was...

I forget who it was, but someone on the Lakers (I think?) just popped Rudy T when he was running to help one of his teammates in a fight...he never saw it coming, just got clocked. Someone has a link, I'm sure.

I've seen footage of it before and man it was vicious.
