Will he play in Lakers?
or other title contender teams?
I personally think that he will play for the Lakers.
Any thoughts?

I assume he'll play for San Antonio, replacing the soon retired David Robinson

I don't know if he can be really friendly with Shaq & Kobe ?

BTW, whatever happens, it's the end of a great era for Utah, I mean almost 20 years with Stockton-Malone (+Sloan), what will this team become next year ?
They'll have have to rebuild something around Kirilenko I think, + making good trades....

About Malone, I think he probably won't return with the Jazz (would be surprising); IMO he won't retire, & the Lakers opportunity sounds great for him.....Imagine the team the Lakers would be !!!!!
Probably unstoppable !

IMO he'll go to the Spurs. The Admiral is retiring and that would free up some salary cap. The Spurs and Malone would be a good match. I think the Spurs need that 2nd scoring punch too.

The rumour before was that the Spurs wanted Jason Kidd too.
Imagine that...Duncan, Malone, Kidd.

I don't think Malone is willing to be a third option just yet, which is why I doubt he'll sign with the Lakers. Also, part of the rift between the Mailman and Jazz management is that they are not willing to pay him what he believes he's worth. Since money is obviously a factor in continuing his career, it wouldn't make much sense for him to sign with the Lakers for a lower amount than what the Jazz will offer him, even just to spite his former team.

Personally, I think he'll go to either Dallas or San Antonio, two teams who should be looking to add a new inside player this offseason, even if it's only for one more year. Of those two teams, I'd say San Antonio has the greater chance, since Malone would get the minutes and shots that he wants, as well as the money.

Of course, he could sign with the Hornets thus returning to Louisiana. PJ Brown is also a free agent, so if he doesn't re-sign, the Mailman would be a great replacement.

jermail o'neal wants to go to SA, as with utah..hmm well now they will know how chicago felt!!

san antonio wont sign malone
who would you rather??
Jermaine Oneal young all-star! prolly a top 10-20 player in the league.
Karl Malone, will be 40 soon and has about 2 more years in him

if the spurs CANT sign jermiane then thell prolly make an offer at malone.

I hope malone goes to lakers, coz apparentley scottie pippen wants to aswell :D

i'm sure he wants to a go to a contender, but i think he equally wants to pass abdul jabar as the nba's all time leader in scoring.

i don't know teams' cap situations and how much malone would want, but i do think he will end up on a team where he will be at least the 2nd scoring option.

thats right , Karl would not be happy with the lakers. He would be the 3rd option. And IMO he wants Kareem's record just as much as he wants a ring.
