J.O. to orlando??

is jermaine o'neal a good fit in orlando?

I think he would improve their frontline. Kemp was decent during his stint as a starter, but he's a free agent and likely gone this offseason, unless the Magic are willing to give him another shot. O'Neal can play centre, wich would give the Magic a starting five of:

C-O'Neal
F-Gooden
F-Hill (assuming he'll return, else Giricek)
G-McGrady
G-Vaughn/Armstrong

They'd have to acquire him in a sign and trade though, since they are over the cap and O'Neal probably won't settle for spare change. I don't think the Magic have anything the Pacers would want in return.

the magic don't have anybodty to trade for oneal...the only posible trade is the one of oneal for t-mac...which won't happen...

Gooden is going to be just as good, if not better than O'Neal. If Indiana wanted to wait, why not?

I agree. O'Neal should definately be the centrepiece to Indiana's future plans. If they are going to do any rebuilding it's only his supporting cast they have to worry about.

Wonder how Gooden would feel being traded here and there in his first couple of seasons. Couldn't be good for the confidence.

But, yeah Jermaine and Drew would be a unstoppable front court. They can both shoot, post up, rebound and defend. That would be sure to get Indiana past the first round.

Not necessarily. Scottie Pippen was able to get his points playing alongside MJ in Chicago. Kobe and Shaq are prime examples of two high scoring teammates. I don't think the addition would take anything away from T-Mac. Getting Jermaine to Orlando would be the problem.

Imo J.O would be a good fit but i cant see it happening those. With Drew in the lineup the magic dont ( shouldn't ) feel the need to bring in a superstar big man. Drew Gooden has a bright future and as a rookie grabbed 8.40rpg for the magic( 12rpg in the playoffs). what the magic would be better doing is getting Steven Hunter more into the lineup, get him rebounding and blocking and then give Drew more looks on offence.

J.O would be a great asset to orlando, Zach Randolph would also be perfect, If drew could push up to the center these 2 youngsters could prove to be quite lethal. Randolph just isnt getting enough minutes in portland even though he deserves them, exact same thing happened with o'neil, they just wouldnt give him a fair run with the love child wallace taking up most of the minutes

He would also come at alot cheaper cost to orlando then J.O and i dunno about you guys but i beleive he is gonna be a superstar, when getting the minutes he's proved his worth and has been by far better then wallace yet portland still refuse to play him.

i think it can happen. both o'neal and t-mac are out of the playoffs for the third time. i heard that the two has the same agent and that can happen.

the only problem i see with jermiane going to orlando is t-mac
it'll be interesting to see if hes willing to play alongside another star.

but if it does go well, and t-mac lets it happen, then yes, they will be the kobe and shaq of the east.

If Jermaine O'Neal wants more than the Magic's exception and the Pacers aren't interested in a sign and trade, then it probably won't happen.

in his exit interview, jermaine o'neal listed the spurs, magic, and indiana as possibilities, with indiana being #1.

i don't see O'Neal signing for the MLE with the magic or the magic having any players indiana would want in return (other then t-mac). if he somehow ended up on the magic, it would be interesting too see how that works out. o'neal most likely would end up as their center. even if the eastern conference lacks quality, big centers- i wonder how his body will hold up playing the opponent's biggest players day in, day out.

the spurs does seem like a possibility. but if the spurs were to go after kidd, most likely that would end their chances of getting o'neal.

i think it all depends on what indiana does this offseason. if he isn't pleased with that the organization does, he is good as gone

From a personal standpoint, Indiana should be his #1 option. He's established himself as the Pacers' main man, with Reggie Miller taking on a secondary role. In Orlando and San Antonio, he'd be the second fiddle. Not that he wouldn't still get his points there either. I guess it comes down to whether he wants the pressure of being the leader and the go to guy.

Still, he has to evaluate his chances of winning in Indiana. The Pacers started the season strong, but played so-so at best in the second half of the season, and were eliminated by lower seeded Boston, who also had a subpar performance compared to the first half of the season.

Guess we'll have to wait and see.

He was doing that for at least half a season before Brad Miller came in, and was doing well.

I think he's out of Indiana next season. I heard he wants Tinsley, Artest out of Indiana which can not happen.

I don't think he'll do as good as he does now if he were to go to Orlando, no other big man to take some pressure off him defensively.
In San Antonio he could be a good addition, but he'd need to share the ball in the post though.
I think he'd be best off to stay in Indiana if he wants to be the man, but in San Antonio he'd have a good chance to be one of the best teams in the league, with definate title chances.

True that he would be the lone post precense on the inside. But that is also good for a big man. If you have alot of post players, and not enough quality shooters or slashers, the defense doesn't have to respect them as much, therefore they can clog the lane, regardless of where the offensive player is (who doesnt have the ball) and the can easily double team.

Orlando's hopes would rest upon Grant Hill again But they would reach the east finals with "just" Tmac and Jemaine O'Neal imo. If they had him (Hill) they'd be legit contendors.

Armstrong and Garrity are really good shooters that can spread the court. Have Jermaine on the weak side and alternate between Hill and Tmac creating and slashing. Then after the defense is softened up but Mcgrady and Hill, let Jermaine go down low. I can't see how the opposition can double team him with that lineup. Too many offensive options. They would be soft defensively, no question. But Offenisvely, they'd be a juggernaut.
