NBA Playoffs 2008: (1) Lakers vs. (8) Nuggets

Thu Apr 17, 2008 2:31 pm

Okay, Lakers vs. Nuggets is now official. I have Lakers in 5. Nuggets always seem to lose in the first round in five games. The Lakers match up extremely well with them, and I think their depth and talent will give them the win.

Will have to go to Lakers at 5, Nuggets are still not good enough for the playoffs

Thu Apr 17, 2008 3:03 pm

I will choose a sweep. Nuggets are not that competitive to beat the lakers, 1st seed against the 8th... dont know how is bynum but this series will be too easy for the lakers-.

1st Seed vs. 8th (*cough Warriors)

Lakers are too good this year for Nuggets, but I´ll say they´re gonna steal 2 games for them. I would like, if Denver could advance, but I think it´s just a dream

I don't get it. Finishing with a 50-32 record that will land them 4th if they ended up in the wrong conference is not good enough for the playoffs? No, they aren't a match for the Lakers, but people seem to be writing off a lot of teams in the West that deserve a little more credit.

Oops accidentally clicked Nuggets in 5, meant to click Lakers in 5...

Nuggets in 4! woo!

I am the optimist, but I do think they'll give the Lakers a run for their money. AI and Melo are proven stars, Camby is a wall in defense and K-Mart is a great player as well. I personally wouldn't write them off

Lakers in 7 for me, I dont think the Nuggets can win but if they play their best basketball they can push the Lakers to the limit.

Thu Apr 17, 2008 8:24 pm

Lakers in 6. Even though Lakers are very well structured, i think the Nuggets will put up a good fight.

Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:31 pm

Lakers in five. The Lakers are arguably just as vunerable as anyone else in the West this year should the ball not bounce their way but I don't see the Nuggets taking more than a game from them, maybe two to make it interesting but more likely just the one.

Thu Apr 17, 2008 10:57 pm

Ofcourse I would LOVE to see Nuggets win it, but hey.. Lakers in 7.

Thu Apr 17, 2008 11:52 pm

Voted Lakers in 6, but hoping to see a upset.

If Kobe gets MVP, then he'll just pore it on more in the playoffs.

Thats why i can see the nuggets beating them. The Lakers have only 7 wins more than denver (although they won denver 3 times during the regular season). And nobody expected warriors to win last year. Last years dallas was definitely better than this years lakers and denver is still better than the warriors. It would be great if the nuggets had the home court advantage cuz theyre so good when playing in the pepsi center. Theyll probably go down by 2 and then tie the series 2-2 after their home games - anything could happen from there..

How I wish the Nuggets would win the series but I guess in my dreams is the closest they'll get to winning a playoff series this year...

By the way, I voted for KOBESUX!

lol, and what makes you think last year's Mavs were DEFINITELY better than this year's Lakers?

Fri Apr 18, 2008 12:02 pm

Los Angeles in Six.

Fri Apr 18, 2008 11:14 pm

Dont you remember what a season they had last year?!!!? Well i like the Lakers much more than Dallas (actually i hate Dallas). But LA got their top seed only one or two games before the playoffs. Dallas last year were in front all season long and they probably had more than 57 wins... I just think that anything can happen in the west and none of the teams are really much better than the others..
