They could get Ben Gordon at #3 and perhaps Devin Harris or Andre Iguodala at #7.
I still think they need to get proven players. Their team is already full of inexperienced ones.
Thu Jun 24, 2004 12:18 pm
Why would they take Gordon at #3? What's Hinrich for? I know they're high on him but I don't get their logic.
The Bulls need a SG and SF right, so now can't they get Deng at #3, and Iguodala at #7, that would be great for them.
Orlando - Emeka unless Francis trade goes down then Howard
Charlotte - Howard
Chicago - Deng
Clippers - Livingston
Dallas - Pavel? might trade down still
Atlanta - Josh Smith? Gordon? Iguodala?
Chicago - Iguodala if he's still here, they get a SG and a SF wow Deng and Iggy.
Toronto - Gordon or Harris

pax from the outset has said he wanted to get a proven vet scorer this offseason... gordon being high on the bulls list is a smokescreen
imo this trade all but seals at least one of the 1st round picks being traded
chandler+3rd+erob
for
paul pierce
then..
7th+jyd
for
al harrington
larry legend has come out and said he wants luke jackson and with this trade, indy gets him. for the bulls, they're able to fill the PF position opened in the PP trade and also rid themselves of JYD's crappy contract
C- curry
PF big al
SF pierce
SG crawford
PG hinrich
Still have the MLE to use and a late 2nd round pick
not bad
of course this is all speculation
Thu Jun 24, 2004 1:25 pm
Actually I now think the 3rd pick is for the Pierce trade, Boston wants a PG, and Gordon would be a great pickup for them.
I don't know if the 7th pick trade will go down, but I'm believeing mroe and more that the 3rd pick one will happen.
Thu Jun 24, 2004 4:32 pm
I'm thinking Suns did this trade to remain being a huge factor in the FA bidding. They don't really need any of the rookies avail... and drafting a rookie would cost 3 mil... and what they really need is a center... and that dude they wanted pulled out so they'll try again next year? Why not.
They will most likely pick up a center with the 32nd pick they got to fill the gap. Possibly Heu Jan-Sing or whatever his name is? (that 7'3" Korean fella).
Maybe they think Kobe is theirs to be had?
I hope they don't expect to get him, because they'd be making a mistake... But anyways, they should still pick up a decent player or players from the FA market.
Not the most enticing trade though.

the boston trade is way off.. bulls are drafting ben gordon to team up with Kirk for years to come. bulls are trading the 7th pick and tyson chandler for AL Harrington and the pacers will draft Luke Jackson.
Thu Jun 24, 2004 5:52 pm
Whatever happens, seems like the Bulls have a few more options with a second lottery pick at their disposal. No complaints here.

Pierce is a nice player but I don't think he'll bring us back to the promise land. He's really going to need crawford and Curry to step up if we're going to have a chance at success. I like Pierce because he plays on both ends, hopefully that will rub off on the rest of the guys and we can finally see the Bulls back in the playoffs. I still think the Bulls can bring in another guy to help Pierce... I'm looking in your direction Vince!! Air Canada + Paul Pierce would be a nice duo.

Yes but a backcourt filled with 2 guys under 6'4 at the 1 and 2 is going to be a defensive disaster, I see a lot of smokescreens. I also don't see Luke Jackson going at 7th, maybe another smokescreen, but getting Gordon and Jackson doesn't make sense to me when Deng and Iggy are still there.

Seems like the Bulls wanted to keep both picks. Sounds good to me.

hinrich is gonna play the 2 with gordon at the 1, deng at the 3, trade crawford?
curry
chandler
deng
hinrich
gordon
sounds nice from here, probably gonna need some time though with so many youngsters. oh and deng at 7 could turn out to be real nice.
Fri Jun 25, 2004 6:27 pm
No Gordon will play the 2 with Hinrich at the 1 and blah blah
Fri Jun 25, 2004 8:05 pm
same difference

one of them might be undersized on occasion.

Looks like the tables might've turned for the Bulls, although, we all said that last year... that something might happen, but it didn't.
However, they are rookies Magius, so I wouldn't expect them in the starting lineup, and Chandler in the lineup as well? What about Davis? And aslo, it would start of Crawford at the 2, Hinrich at the 1, but Crawford and Chandler, might both be traded... only time will tell.
Anyway, this seems to be one of the great moves of the Bulls and should turn out well for them, since Deng and Gordon are both brilliant young stars, and would be both in contention for ROY if all goes well. But you gotta admit, the Magic outdid everyone today. 3 stars in Howard & Nelson and the other dude, Varejao. But it will be a tough battle, last years last place getters in the Magic and Bulls will look to have a good season with these rookies!

I rather keep crawford and have him be a candidate for 6th man of the year.

Seems like the Bulls wanted to keep both picks.
actually the bulls were exploring trade options on both picks all the way until the draft as reported by the chicagotrib
pax mentioned about building assets so he should at least be giving crawford a qualifying offer to keep him one year.
ideally the lineup should be
pg/sg: hinrich, crawford, gordo in a 3 guard rotation with all them getting big minutes
sf: deng
pf: chandler
c: curry
AD backing up c/pf
jyd backing up sf/pf
MLE split between a SF and SG
duhon
good draft on by da bull imo. just not sold on small backcourts yet

i think crawford4MIP4real were happy to see bulls select luol deng.
why coz they were twins separated by birth. (look crawford4MIP4real avatar and photo of deng.

Well then, I guess the Bulls decided to keep the picks and the players they selected for the time being.

This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever heard,Crawford4MIP has a picture of some Bulls player as his avatar (Linton Johnson or someone),not himself.
