Andrew Wiggins almost puts down a 720 dunk

Say what you will about his potential to become a true superstar/franchise player in the league, but there's no question he's a tremendous athlete. If he is able to pull off stuff like that, I'd like to see him in next year's dunk contest alongside Zach LaVine and Aaron Gordon.

Looks like we might have another sick dunk contest!

Wiggins was interviewed by "The Starters" after this year's (or just before) and he gave a very clear zero interest in entering any dunk contest on the future.

Sick attempt at a 720 though and iam sure that dunk has being dunked before in practice

What happened with the dunk contest?

Used to be that best dunkers and stars alike went there and they did put on a show. Remember 2000 contest? McGrady and Carter...

I dunno, lavine and Gordon put on one of the best back and forth battles of all time last year. I'd be happy with a rematch between the two

It's being like for years now with some of the best players in the league that can get up there passing up on the dunk contest, I remember Ray Allen in the dunk contest back in the 90's a player never known for his dunking but that started an era of star players snubbing the contest.

That's a shame. Definitely makes videos like this even more of a tease.

Star power in dunk contests is nice, but as long as the players who do compete have creativity, and the format isn't contrived and convoluted, it's usually entertaining. Some years go better than others, and that's just the way it is. Not every contest can top the last one, and some are going to be disappointing. The ones that are great make up for it though, in my opinion.
