Pachulia to Mavs; Teletovic to Suns

The Dallas Mavericks haved acquired Zaza Pachulia from the Milwaukee Bucks for a future second-round pick, the team officially announced Thursday. The Mavericks will be absorbing the final year of Pachulia's $5.2 million into their existing cap space.

The current Buck is a 12-year NBA veteran who was drafted by Orlando in 2003 and spent most of his career as a member of the Atlanta Hawks. A career backup, Pachulia has consistently put up reasonable numbers, usually averaging between 6 to 8 points and 6 to 7 rebounds per game.

Without a center on the roster after DeAndre Jordan burned the team on Wednesday, Pachulia is an early favorite to start at center. The 6'11, 270-pound Georgian native adds size to a front court which has Dirk Nowitzki, Chandler Parsons, Dwight Powell, and Charlie Villanueva. After absorbing the deal, the Mavericks still have between $10 and 12 million in cap space with which to fill out the roster.

Right after the Brooklyn Nets rescinded their qualifying offer to forward Mirza Teletovic, the Suns have reportedly swooped in to nab the career 36.2% three-point shooter.

Teletovic, who will be 30 by the start of the season, figures to immediately step into last year's Anthony Tolliver role, except hopefully he finds his stay in Phoenix to be a bit more extended.

After shooting 39% from 3 in 2013/14, the 6'8 forward from Bosnia and Herzegovina struggled after a hot start out of the gate last year before essentially shutting down his season in January due to a frightening case of blood clots in the lungs. Initially ruled out for the season, Teletovic managed to return in time for the playoffs, although he only registered 16 minutes during the Nets' first-round defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks.

I like this. The Mavs won 49 games 2 seasons ago with just Dalembert in the middle. The only downside I see is his shot blocking.

And he plays hard and a better finisher than Sam.
