At the 6:22 mark of the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers, Curry hit a pull-up trey in transition to become the youngest and fastest in NBA history to hit 1,000 career three-pointers.
During the following timeout Curry along with his record was shown on the jumbo screen at Oracle and the crowd erupted into a standing ovation that spilled into MVP chants for the Warriors franchise player.
Curry first made shooting history during the 2012-13 season when he set the NBA record for most three-pointers made in a single season with 272.
Playing in his 369th game, Curry hit the 1,000-mark milestone in 88 fewer game than the previous quickest, Dennis Scott (457 games). Curry is the 74th player ever to hit 1,000 threes, and just the 13th to do it with one franchise.
That is great. Sheer numbers would suggest he's the best 3 point shooter in league history, period. But I am still inclined to believe Reggie was just as good. He did it in era when threes weren't as popular nor encouraged. Nonetheless Curry should be one of the best ever at shooting 3s.
And he's my MVP so far into the season. It's him or Davis but with the way Warriors are destroying the league with Curry in the center of the team core, I'd give him a nod over Davis.
