The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to trade Corey Brewer to the Houston Rockets, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Houston will send guard Troy Daniels to Minnesota as part of the Brewer deal, sources said. Minnesota will send forward Ronny Turiaf to Houston with Brewer, but Turiaf could be moved to a third team, a source said.
Turiaf recently had arthroscopic surgery on his right hip and will miss the remainder of the season.
To acquire Brewer, the Rockets used their trade exception from the Jeremy Lin trade to the Los Angeles Lakers. They wanted to complete the deal on Friday because it leaves them 60 days until the Feb. 19 trade deadline when Brewer would be eligible to be traded again.
Houston had been motivated to acquire Brewer especially for his ability to defend at the small forward position. He'll play behind starter Trevor Ariza.
