Impressed by the Warriors? Don't credit Steve Kerr...

or so says Dennis Rodman.

Golden State is 18-2 on the season thanks to its current 13-game winning streak. That's a pretty impressive record for any coach to have through the first 20 games of his coaching career, but Rodman—Kerr's former Chicago Bulls teammate—is a little skeptical about how much of an impact the rookie coach has had on his team.

Here's what Rodman had to say about Kerr's coaching thus far, via Jim Park of Sheridan Hoops:

More Rodman on Kerr: "He's just havin a good time sittin there. Got into a system where u can win. Just have a bunch of good assistants."

Rodman's got a point, as Kerr is inheriting a pretty good young team on the rise. It also helps to have experienced assistants lending a hand. All the same though, Kerr probably deserves a little more credit than that.

Doesn't that quote ends with Rodman saying he's only joking?

Not according to that particular article, that it reiterates that there's no bad blood bad between the two.

Iirc Warriors guys in interview described Kerr as a laid back guy and the notion that I got was that he is a highly likable guy that's able to create nice atmosphere in the locker room and off court. Guys respect him and will listen to him and his staff.

I still say that Mark Jackson was not a good coach. Their success was because of the fact that they were already a good team to begin with. Any of us could have coached that team to the playoffs.

Throw someone in the mix who's halfway decent at coaching and this is what you get

I think Jackson deserves credit for what he did during his tenure there, but from what I've read, he's an abrasive jerk who alienated important people in the front office. If you're going to ruffle feathers, you need to be a lot more successful than he was to get away with it.

Kerr is the guy who took a black eye rather than back down and hide from Jordan's standard harsh treatment of teammates.

He's arguably one of the most open and honest sources regarding anything in his career. Including all his mistakes as Suns GM, which he has gone through at length before.

And from his broadcasting, hell even in 2K where he's the one willing to take all the goofy jokes and self-deprecating comments, you can tell he has that ideal temperament for handling personalities of a team on the cusp like the Warriors.

Kinda like Doc Rivers was for the extremely veteran yet hungry Celtics. (And may be for the Clippers.)

Jackson, and he had done this in prior aspects of his career both broadcasting and playing, is a type that tries to play forces off each other to enhance his power. Only his scheme blew up in his face.

Ask Reggie Miller about him and how he'd "work" Larry Brown sometime...then wasn't too happy when he couldn't play the same games with Bird.

Cool story. He's my COTY so far into the season. I was actually interested to see how Kerr will work David Lee into the rotation when he comes back. But I don't think he'll start as Draymond has been blowing up the scoreboard as a starter.

Anyway I remember watching some espn people discussing whether Kerr's more Phil Jackson or Greg Pop. I was multitasking so didn't exactly recall everything but the guys were pretty much saying he's more Greg Pop alike than Phil as a coach. I have no idea how so though.

Kerr has been brilliant. The splash brothers are doing well. And the role guys are complementing the play of the 2. Nice job to start Barnes, because he really sucked when he wasn't starting. Iggy is the 6th man now.
