Jordan Hamilton to sign with Raptors

Jordan Hamilton has agreed to a one-year deal to join the Toronto Raptors, according to RealGM's Shams Charania. The free agent spent last season split between the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets.

Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri was in charge in Denver when the team acquired Hamilton on draft night in 2011.

Hamilton has great size for a swingman and a nice shooting stroke, though he has only shot 41 percent from the field over his three seasons. He's a career 36-percent shooter from behind the 3-point line, though.

Last year, Hamilton averaged 6.7 points and 3.2 rebounds in 17 minutes per game. He'll join a crowded wing in Toronto, where DeMar DeRozan and Terrence Ross will start on the wing. Combo guards Greivis Vasquez and Lou Williams are expected to spend some time playing shooting guard, and James Johnson should be the primary backup at the small forward spot. Hamilton will presumably be competing with rookie Bruno Caboclo and Landry Fields for spare minutes.

Adding Hamilton means Toronto would have 16 players on the roster, which means Ujiri must make one more move -- even if it's just waiving somebody -- between now and the start of the regular season.
Rest In Peace Kobe
