Isaiah Thomas headed to Suns

http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/ ... and-trade/

Jeff Hornacek is going to go small next year. Apparently.

The Phoenix Suns already have third team All-NBA player Goran Dragic under contract and have promised to match any offer for Eric Bledsoe (which has yet to come). Behind them they have promising rookie Tyler Ennis, breakout star Gerald Green, and Archie Goodwin.

And pretty soon Isaiah Thomas.

The Kings didn’t have a lot of leverage in this sign-and-trade because they had no intention of matching the offer. While the Kings brain trust was divided on Thomas’ worth, the people with the power were done with him — they didn’t want him to start and Thomas is tired of feeling jerked around in Sacramento. The era of the Pizza Guy ads are done and that makes me sad.

Free agency has a profound effect upon us all.

Good pickup, but they've got a bit of a logjam at point guard now. As the article suggests, they're probably going to go small to overcome that; not sure how well that's going to work out, though.

Good for him that he got paid I guess but this probably wasn't best landing spot for him unless they are going to let Bledsoe walk or S-and-T him which seems unlikely.

Kevin Parker, it's spelled "ISAIAH" by the way.

Isaiah has been joy to watch. I kept close eyes on him and Kings last two seasons because I had Cousins and him on my fantasy league team (2 time defending champ now in official league, or 3peat defending champ incl unofficial). Isaiah will flourish if he's given a proper chance.

Why should you follow spelling instructions from a long-time 'Heat fan' who once spelled Dwyane Wade's name as Dwayne.

This guy is one of my favorite players - drove me crazy when he played for UW but he plays way better at the pro level. Obviously better as a sixth man due to his height but he's a helluva lot better than Darren Collison. This signing has got to mean Bledsoe is done in Phoenix. A sign and trade with Bledsoe and Monroe is so obvious that it'll never happen. Don't know why they drafted Ennis but maybe Dragic will be a full-time 2 guard.

Anyway, I think Phoenix will find itself on the outside looking in but this is still a great signing. I'll have to catch some Suns games this year.
