Michael Redd To Announce Retirement From NBA

Postby Alpha_ on Wed Nov 06, 2013 6:30 am

Michael Redd will officially announce his retirement from the NBA on Wednesday, the Milwaukee Bucks announced Tuesday.

Redd reportedly turned down a training camp invitation in October.

Redd averaged 19 points and 3.8 rebounds in his 12-year NBA career, including back-to-back seasons of 25.4 points and 26.7 points per game in 2005-06 and 2006-07.

Redd spent 11 of his 12 seasons with the Bucks and gave them a prolific scorer when healthy.

Redd also was part of the gold medal-winning Team USA in the 2008 Olympics.

definitely one of the best shooters in the NBA history and a Bucks legend (A steal in the draft too - 2nd round pick). The Heat should had tried to sign this guy instead of Roger Mason  ...last time I saw him played for Phoenix he still have some left in the tank to help a contender, but its his body and he knows when to let go. thanks for memories Redd Hot.

A fine shooter and one of the league's better success stories in the past decade, before injuries derailed his career. From the 43rd pick in a weak Draft and playing only six games his rookie season to having six straight seasons of averaging over 20 points per game, a couple of good Playoff series and even an All-Star appearance. A shame he couldn't have gone out on better terms, but it was a respectable career for Redd.

Pretty good career I'd say. He was quite good for 6-7 seasons iirc. I remember him being constantly compared to Ray Allen. Makes me wonder what milestones he could ahchieved if he kept himself healthy and prepared like Ray.

One of my favorite player in the league, sad to see that injuries derailed his career. Was hoping for the Mavs to sign him years ago.

One of the best 3-point shooter for the last decade. It's just sad that injuries took his prime away.
