Darren Collison decides to backup Chris Paul again

Marc Stein: Darren Collison, I'm told, is going to the Clippers. Done deal. Two-year deal, player option in Year 2

Marc Stein: With no sign-and-trade workable between Mavs and Clips, Collison opting to take portion of Clippers' MLE for chance to go back to LA area

Pretty great deal for the Clippers.

Fine pickup for them, a more than capable replacement for Bledsoe.

I loved Mini LeBron, hate the fact they let him go while keeping Billups who should have retired after his achilles injury, dude's got rings, he's got rep, what more you want bro..... aside from Chris, Bledsoe was my favorite Clipper.... and I'm really starting to hate Jordan, I been standing up for him for a while now, but it's at a point where he should have developed into a double double 10 points and 10 boards a game guy the way Asik did this season in Houston..... and he hasn't yet..... I surely hope that had more to do with Del Negro's coaching style and not D'Andres game.....

looking real forward to watching the Clips do some damage this year

Collison was quoted saying he can start from any team, yet signs with the Clippers being a backup. What?

He was okay with the Mavs. Like Mayo struggled after being good in the first two months, then got demoted for two old guards in Mike James and Derek Fisher. As great as Carlisle is, I think he is not good with developing players. Roddy B would have been a role player right now if he is healthy and has the confidence he had in his rookie season then injuries and DNP happens.

End of any racist discussion.

Paul-Collison must be an item like Francis-Mobley was.

He probably feels that he can start for any team (and certainly could start for quite a few), but is also comfortable being a backup in the right situation. It would seem that the Clippers strike him as the right situation.

A solid backup, but his disability to run the pick & roll could definitely hurt the Clippers playing style. But usually when Paul is off the court they start running isos for Crawford anyway, so who cares.
