Hey, being a lottery pick that spends most of their early career being traded around the league worked out alright for Chauncey Billups, so there's still hope.

It seems there's some potential there, he's averaging a double-double per 36 with decent numbers on the offensive boards, but as an NBA big he needs to shoot a lot better and he's nowhere near dependable at the free throw line.

Thomas Robinson on trade: "I got the news a couple of minutes ago. I'm excited for Portland to give me a chance to go back to the player I was before my 1st year in the league. Being hungry on the glass, a shut down defender"

Doesn't this guy known to have attitude issues? If then it's not too surprising he's being moved around often. Talented but also a headache to deal with.

A quick Google search reveals that an attitude problem has been mentioned, but also refuted. It doesn't sound like he's in the running for NBA Headcase of the Year, at least.

He's somewhat underutilized back with the Kings. When he was with the Rockets, I really don't know why he's not that used.

Andrew, that's good to hear the kid isn't no Cousins.

Strss Fuctur: I guess it's because they didn't have much room for errors to risk, because they were contending for the playoffs spot. To develop him, the Rockets probably had to sacrifice Greg Smith's minutes?

McHale thought Motiejunas and Smith > Robinson. Heck, I was even expecting that he will be the starter when he came.

I thought Smith was pretty good back up though not anything grandly special. Motiejunas at times was fun to watch. He has a great range.

Robinson's still very raw imo. It was probably very tough to count on him.

He'll certainly get as good a shot in Portland as anywhere else. Seems like the guy should pan out to be a rotation player. Even if he doesn't, two second rounders for a top 5 pick from a year ago.

I guess a lot depends on Lamarcus as well. If the Blazers trade him for picks, they'll become one of the great tankers to chase after Wiggins and give Lillard, Leonard, and Robinson all they can handle to develop.

Great deal for the Blazers, 2 2nd round picks for a top 5 pick from 2 years ago? Seems like good business to me.

Was this just a salary dump by the Rockets though with their move for Dwight? Or is there reports of issues with Robinson in Houston?

From what I've read, it's just a salary dump.

It's unfortunate that he hasn't really gotten a chance to showcase what he's capable of like most top 5 picks that enter the league. At the same time, he hasn't shown too much polish on the court and he's already 22. Going to Portland will let him fill out a JJ Hickson type role for them next season, I hope he steps it up.

He isn't tall or long enough to play consistent minutes until he develops a mid range game and figures out who he can guard.

He might be a nice fit next to Leanord and Aldridge in Portland. Do what JJ Hickson did last year.
2013 is the year?
Thanks to Vl@d, Leftos and all the other patchers for their hard work.
