Two seasons of Bobcats games for $7 a game

In a last-ditch attempt to get fans in the seats, the Bobcats are now rolling out a ridiculously cheap season-ticket deal.

Fans in Charlotte can buy a season ticket for the 2012-13 season — seats are available for as low as $537.50 — and get a season ticket for the 2013-14 season absolutely free.

That's 82 games. For $537.50, or six dollars and 55 cents a game.

Even if you only go to marquee games against the top four teams in each conference, over the course of two years you would be paying less than 30 dollars a game.

For some perspective, fans have to put down a $100 deposit just to get on the waiting list for Los Angeles Lakers season tickets, with no guarantee of actually getting them. Actual season tickets cost thousands of dollars.

Do note that you don't get any canned veggies in this deal.

If I was in Charlotte for nearly the entirety of the NBA season (instead of at school in Columbia), I'd jump on this.

Man, i wish i lived in Charlotte.

I wonder if they'd pay for my plane ticket to come watch a season's worth of Bobcats games?

Get in a poker game with Jordan, I hear he's not actually all that good and will take challenges he's offered. (If you can somehow manage to get to his table.)

Red flag deal for sure. But then again, it's Bobcats. Move along, boys.

Whatever brings the fans in, I guess. Especially since they missed out in the lottery. As you guys have noted though, it's a good opportunity to catch the marquee teams and players when they come into town.

superstars will play at their best since Bobcats have a pretty weak defense, so it will be exciting to see some high quality fastbreak dunks, alley-oops, scoring explosions, etc. I'd take that deal in a heartbeat

Plus it'll fun to follow their young talent. Whoever they draft at #2 should be decent, as a Bobcats fan (which i'm not) you'd hope it's MKG.

Throw him in with Kemba Walker, who doesn't seem overly effective on the NBA level but he's got heart. And Biyombo is alright. Enough there to keep ya interested.

So what do you guys think MJ has to do with this team? Or Rich Cho for that matter.

Wasn't this season's Bobcats possibly the worst team in the history of mankind?

They had the worst winning percentage in NBA history, yes.

As benji said, they have to acquire good players and build a better roster, which currently would mean building through the Draft. They'll have some cap room this offseason and a lot of cap room the year after, though they have little to offer marquee free agents that better teams could not. They don't exactly have the talent pool to swing blockbuster deals either, so help is coming from the lottery.

The best thing MJ can personally do is be hands-off. That's not to say he should be completely absent, but Rich Cho has to be given the space and freedom to do his job. There can't be any yes men, no personal friends or Tar Heel alumni unless they're willing to say no and can get things done. Assemble a good staff and let them do what they do best.

Great deal, even if you're not a bobcats' but an NBA fan. I would do it if I was living in Charlotte. Even for the lolcats 7 bucks per game is cheep(seems about the right time to make a long time visit to my uncles overseas).

It's also worth noting that that's where prices start from. I'm guessing you'd have to pay a little more for decent seats.

Yeah, the Wildcats are (or were; the page isn't meant to be publicly available yet and has changed several times since appearing online on Thursday) seats starting at $159. All that gets you is an under-16 in the back few rows.

what i wouldn't give to sit at a poker table with MJ, its like free money. of course i have no way near the funds to even get considered for the game. probably have to be a millionaire to sit with him

if i lived in Charlotte and didnt have 3 kids to take care of each night i would do this for sure

Hmm... my boss just agreed to give me off three month of from Oct. on. I'd miss a few games in early Jan. but could be back in Feb. If the Bobcats miss the playoffs, as everone expects, I could be back home in May...
Now I have to convince my wife to work even harder as a lawyer, so I could afford that adventure...
