What do you want to see as your 66 game NBA team roster?

Postby Dc311 on Tue Nov 29, 2011 12:41 pm

Basically, since there is unofficially going to be a 66 game season, what would you like for your favorite team to do as of rosters?

San Antonio is my team,so the first thing i would like for them to do is get rid of Richard Jefferson. As a San Antonio fan being from San Antonio,i think i can speak for alot of us here and say he sucks balls.Yes he had his moments here and there but he has to go.The only problem i see with it is who would replace him?Manu Ginobili would be the first choice. But then who would take the SG position? The only one i see taking the starting SG position would be Gary Neal. But i would rather see him come off the bench. Also, since Antonio McDyess has not officially retired, the Spurs should talk him into coming back with the team seeing as they are still not that strong at the big men area.

So here is MY final 12 man roster with reserves for the San Antonio Spurs(Remember, this is what i want.):

STARTERS:
C-Antonio McDyess
PF-Tim Duncan
SF-Matt Bonner(I have long said he should be a SF/PF)
SG-Manu Giobili
PG-Tony Parker

BENCH:
Gary Neal(SG/PG)
Tiago Splitter(C/PF)
Dejuan Blair(PF/C)
Kawhi Leonard(SF)
James Anderson(SG/SF)
Cory Joseph(PG)
Daniel Green(SF/SG)

RESERVES:
Da'Sean Butler(SF)
Steve Novak(SF/PF)

And what is one Player that you would really like to see your team get.
For me,it would be Nicolas Batum

So what are your "I want" rosters? And do not put no bullshit fantasy teams either.

Bobcats:

Blow the goddamn thing up. Get rid of Diaw, Diop (hopefully amnesty clause kicks in here), Thomas, Najera, or Maggette for a good 2012 draft pick, and clear as much cap space for the 2012 offseason.

If not, then we can expect to see:

C: Any mediocre center (It will probably be Kwame Brown, but I want more) / Biyombo / [Diop gets amnesty'd so another shitty center gets put here, and likely gets overpaid  ]
PF: Thomas /Diaw / DJ White
SF: Maggette / any SF who can hit the three (Reggie Williams?) / Najera / Cunningham
SG: Gerald Henderson/Kemba Walker / Matt Carroll
PG: DJ Augustin / an okay backup PG (perferably someone who can hit the three)

The Bobcats have something like $15M in cap space if Diop is amnesty'd, so they could try to make a run at some of the bigger names in the 2011 FA group, but I'd much rather that the $$$$$ would be spent next year instead of blowing like eight million a year on someone like Glen Davis or Jeff Green.

As for the Mavericks, as long as they retain TC and JJ, they're set to contend again.

I don't think the Bulls should use their amnesty clause. If they do end up using it, I don't think it should be used to get rid of Boozer as has been suggested a couple of times. He didn't have a tremendous postseason but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt there and putting it down to his various injuries. Healthy (or healthier), I think he can have more of an impact.

I'd like to see them bring in another swingman who can provide some scoring off the bench. If the Blazers use their amnesty clause on Brandon Roy, I wouldn't mind them taking a chance on him. His knees are questionable but he wouldn't have to be The Man so we're not talking a huge role or huge salary. If Richard Hamilton is available he'd be another option, Jason Richardson is another possibility and he's actually an unrestricted free agent who's unlikely to get too many offers much better than what the Bulls could give him. Jamal Crawford is someone else I think they should consider but I wouldn't be surprised if he remains in Atlanta and is likely to get a bigger contract elsewhere.

Nuggets have lost quite a lot in the off-season. If they keep Nene, I'd like to see them pick up a decent starting centre so Nene can play at the power forward that Kenyon Martin vacated.

I thought Antonio Mcdyess said he is going to retire after this season?

I just want Tyson Chandler be in a Dallas uniform. Him or Nene would be nice.

He was not sure.Early in the season he had said he would stay one ore season, then in the playoffs that is when he said he would consider retirement.I personally would like to see him play one more season.

The Nuggets are kind of screwed because half their rotation moved to China (Chandler, Smith, Martin, others?). All that depth they had at the end of last season is gone. I'm wondering if the Nuggets will be able to compete, and whether that will influence Nene's decision to stay or leave.

Why not give Kawhi Leonard the starting job from day one? He was likely the steal of the draft, and is pretty good. He's also a natural 3. Keep Bonner on the bench where he belongs.

Keep dreaming. Portland turned down a Batum for Gerald Wallace trade. If you ask me, Portland has made Batum practically untouchable.

I would but i seriously do not see Coach Pop putting him as a starter right from the beginning.I could see him starting later in the season.Pop would just have to let him see what it is like first and then slowly move his way up.

Yeah i know.It is something that i would love to happen though.I hope Batum and the Spurs consider it (which i highly doubt)in two years when his contract is done.

One thing i forgot to mention in the first post.I would really like for the Spurs to bring in French player Nando De Colo.I honestly do not see Cory Joseph being a good backup to Tony Parker when Parker needs to sit and rest.Nando De Colo is no saint when it comes to being a point guard but he would do a hell of alot better than Joseph.

I agree with you there.I actually think he may try to prove something this season.

I could see him with them.Just as long as he gets along with the coach and plays well.He is already getting up there in age so that would be a slight gamble(in my eyes)for the bulls.

I don't see him coming back after being injured pretty much during the playoffs (and getting dominated by Randolph/Gasol).

Ok. Here's for the Heat.

C: Nene!!!
PF: Bosh
SF: Brong
SG: Wade
PG: Baron Davis!!!

A long shot but possible. Tyson Chandler would be the best fit but Nene will do just fine as well. Realistically Samuel is within range as well as Battier and Butler. No amnesty on Miller. Miller isn't that heavily overpaid and could be a valuable trade chip, say for Nene.

Good thing about Heat roster is that we just need to get little bit better.

Unfortunately for the Nuggets, keeping Nene might be easier said than done.

He wouldn't be a long term solution I agree, but he wouldn't be getting a lengthy, expensive deal so it wouldn't be too much of a gamble. Same situation with Roy.

The Rockets are also courting Nene. I just hope he would sign with the team.

Yeah, I figured he's probably going. It was a big if of course. I'm interested to see what happens there. It'd be a shame to see him go, but I wouldn't mind if he went to the Rockets.

My Celtics would look like:

STARTERS:
C-Jermaine O'neal or MLE-pickup (i'd love Samuel Dalembert)
PF-Kevin Garnett
SF-Jeff Green
SG-Ray Allen
PG-Rajon Rondo

BENCH:
Paul Pierce(SF/SG) - Coming off the bench Jason Terry-like
Glen Davis(PF/C)
Jermaine O'neal or MLE-pick up(C/PF)
Etwaun Moore (SG/PG)
Jajuan Johnson (PF)
Avery Bradley (PG/SG)
Marquis Daniels or Sasha Pavlovic (SF/SG) - I'd bring Daniels back if he's healthy

RESERVES:
Scrubs.

-
Dc311 i agree with Bonner playing at 3, he would have a pretty nice height advantage (Y)

Pierce off the bench? Don't see that happening any time soon.

KG is an big part of that defense, i'd rather start him. Just my 5 cents.

And Doc could play those role players a bit more in the regular season, Big 3 could have their energy saved for 'em playoffs. :cheeky:

BTW
Josh Smith would be the player i'd love playing for the C's, if Rondo stays around he could possibly sing with C's when his contracts up.
