I think it's between Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. Duncan is the most fundamentally sound player in the NBA, but KG had a brilliant 2002/2003 regular season, leading the T'Wolves in points, rebounds, blocks, steals and assists.

On the other hand, Kobe and T-Mac are examples of players that are extremely talented in many areas of the game. Both have greater range on their jumpshot than Duncan or KG, making them valuable players to have on your team when you need instant offense and a good shot - no matter where it's from - in the final seconds of a close game.

I'm still inclined to pick Duncan though. When you take into account statistics, talent and success, Duncan was the best through the 2002/2003 season.

Shaq.....simply because he is a unstopable force. But if you look for the most all-around game I would say a tie between Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett

Tim Duncan, again, anyone who could win a championship with the teammates he had this past season must be doing something right. He almost got a quadruple-double in Game 6 of the Finals.

My vote goes to Shaq because..ya know why...and you don't have a lot of all-stars in your list like AI,Webber,Jermaine O'neal and so on.

OMG Jason Duncan, u didn't even put other in the poll, like Martin said, where is Allen Iverson, some people consider him the best in the league(not me, but some do) like were is webber, and all of them. Like what about Ben Wallace? some people might consider him.

Anyway i voted Kobe, why? cause in my eyes he is the best player. I would of voted KG but cause of him never getting out of the first round(will change this year) he shouldn't be considered teh best. Oh and I wouldn't say Tim Duncan is the best all-around player in the league. THat goes to either Kobe, KG or maybe mcGrady. But I feel Kobe is the best, why? cause everyone always says with Shaq in teh paint kobe's numbers are better than what they should be, but why? Kobe's stats, are worse than what they could be if Shaq wasn't there, sure Kobe would be losing at first because he has never been the actually 1st opition. But still kobe will be what MJ was i his early years: Losing, but still the best player. Ofcourse if the wit kobe this summer if that doesn't work out for kobe and he misses games do to jail-time, than of course I think he won't be the best, but at this current time, I feel Kobe is the best player in the league. But of course that is IMO, but there can't be a best player in teh league right now, because everyone has a different prespective of what that means, "The Best Player in the League."

KG and TD are real good all-round team players.

Kobe and T-mac are real good individually.

But what sets Shaq away from all of them is that he is the most dominant player in the league until someone stops him. Any team with Shaq could win the Championship- because of Shaq...It's pretty easy to see that Shaq is the best now and will be if that marine trains him up real good...and back to the old Orlando Days!

Hey- Where is AI, Stevie and Big Ben??? Jeez...u missed out on them in the poll!

would of voted KG but cause of him never getting out of the first round(will change this year) he shouldn't be considered teh best

yeah...kg doesnt have shaq though also

i voted for kg because he had the best 'efficiency' rating in the league

but still yeah there should be iverson and webber and even elton brand....these guys were all in the top 10 in efficiency except iverson, but he is a team leader....

You probably should have done best sg, sf, pf, c in the league.

My vote goes to kobe. He is best all around but tmac is very close. Shaq is the most dominant.

The best player in the league is Shaq, then follows Shaq, and then Shaq, 10 places below is everyone else.

 , I consider those teammates better than the teammates Kidd had. That's the only reason why the Spurs won. Put Duncan in the Nets to see if the Nets would have won, lol, I don't think so.

As i said before kobe but It is Shaqs league. He just cant be stopped. TD is mr. fundamentals but shaq is mr. i-gotta-body-and-know-how-to-use-it.

Not to say that this is a pointless topic but imo it is very controversial.

After all, there are a few "best of the league" left to make polls. For example, the best coach, the best center, the best rapist, I don't think I've seen those yet,

An aging David Robinson, bruce bowen, stephen jackson and tony parker sure are superiour to Kenyon Martin, RJ, Kittles and Collins. If you want to talk about benchs, look at Dikemeber and Rodney Rogers for the nets and i think they are better than Malik Rose and ginnobili.
Duncan was the difference even if the supporting casts were the same, but they're not. The Nets had a much better one than san antonio's, imo.
