Miami's House fined $25K for "obscene" gesture

Eddie House made one of his favorite gestures -- one that will look familiar to anyone who remembers former NBA star Sam Cassell's infamous "Big Balls Dance." NBA officials decided House's version of the dance qualified as an "obscene gesture." Even Coach Erik Spoelstra gives an approval FIST PUMP! Yeah, BIG BAD BALLS! LOL!

The NBA on Monday fined guard Eddie House $25,000 for what it termed an "obscene gesture" following his go-ahead three-pointer late in Sunday's win at Oklahoma City.

I actually think it's a fair call. I'm not offended by it myself but if the NBA wants things to be family friendly, so be it.

Did he get a tech for it?

Would seem a bit of a double standard that on a call on defense you cant even raise an eyebrow but on a big play on offense you can motion you have "basketballs"

You'd think it'd come under the banner of taunting seeing as though raising an eyebrow on a defensive foul call is apparently tech worthy, as you noted. I guess it was just one of those things that the referees missed in the midst of timeout being called, they weren't quite aware of what he was doing at the time or they didn't care because their authority wasn't being questioned.
