C- Yinka Dare. Once compared to Hakeem Olajuwon.
F- Sharone Wright. Injuries didn't help, but he was supposed to be better.
F- Ed O'Bannon. Somewhere a top 10 pick in 1995.
G- Harold Miner. Athletic, and not much else.
G- Bobby Hurley. An unfair choice considering the accident, but in terms of not living up to expectations, he's a bust.

larry bird was the #6 pick in his draft, so that's sort of a bust....... and glenn robinson was picked before grant hill and kidd......... so maybe thats one too........

1st team
C Shawn Bradley
PF Marcus Camby (#2 pick ahead of marbury, shareef, allen, walker, kobe among others)
SF Danny Ferry (#2 pick!!!)
SG trajan langdon
pg antonio daniels

2nd team
C Bryant Reeves/ Olowakandi (could still prove me wrong)
PF Joe Smith/Christian Laettner (not as good as s'possed to be)
SF Donyell Marshall/ Billy Owens
SG felipe lopez/ calbart chaney
pg kenny anderson (he was supposed to be great)

PG Joe Forte(he might still do something in the league but so far nothing)

SG Lavar Postell(he once said if he got some minutes and shots on ny that he would be just as good as spree and houston they gave him minutes and now he is a free agent and ny isnt hurring to sign him)

PF Joe Smith(drafted over the best player in the league(KG) along wit finley, R. Wallace, Stackhouse, McDyess, T. Ratliff, the list keeps going...)

C Eric Montross( drafted over eddie jones and Jalen Rose nothing else needs to be said)

C Desagana Diop(picked 8th by cavs in 2001 over tony paker, jamaal Tinsley and Richard Jefferson and was named the next shaq)

These 3 were picked over Kobe, Nash, and Jermaine O'neal: Samaki Walker, Erick Dampier, Todd Fuller, and Vitaly Potapenko....the GM's must of really thought of a high upside wit them...

Duke had 4 players go in the top 14 in 1999....Brand and Maggette r doing good but wat happen to Trajan Langdon and William Avery the jus faded away...and Leon Smith was drafted last in the first Round of 1999 but wasnt he still suppose to be a star someday :? oh well

I don't think you can call someone a bust based on who was picked after them. Or do you call for instance Hakeem Olajuwon a bust?

I think a couple of people misunderstood the thread :)

larry bird was the #6 pick in his draft, so that's sort of a bust....... and glenn robinson was picked before grant hill and kidd......... so maybe thats one too........

If Larry Bird is a bust, then Michael Jordan who turned out to be the greatest of all time must be a bust too because he was picked 3rd!!! :D Or did you mean that the particular draft was a bust???
As for Glenn Robinson, well he's still playing so he can't be a bust for going ahead of Grant Hill in the draft. Plus Glen Robinson has been a consistent 20/5/5 guy his whole career...

I think they mean that having (now) NBA Legends picked that late in the draft was a bust and that everyone before them was a bust.

i think he is mixing up the meaning of the word with a player who slides/falls deep in the draft but should have been picked a lot higher, being a "bust" is a player who is expected to be a great player(all star) but eventually becoming (if all)just a solid role player, and i wouldnt say something like that about kobe :)

Kobe is a bust in my mind. He tries to run the team WITHOUT the help of his teammates and I'm sorry to say, he does a good job of. Kobe and Shaq account for more than 50% of the Laker scoring since him joining the Lakers. However, that will change with the addition of Malone and Payton. He will SOON learn that Shaq isn't his only teammate. But, with his whole situation, it is unlikely he will get that chance.

oops

i think what i meant was larry bird was a steal at #6, just thought it was interesting.....

as for the glenn robinson thing he wasnt a bust, but kidd and hill turned out to be real good you know  and robinsons still playing, but he didnt really do anything...... he's kind of like shareef, but shareef still has some years to change that.

notice neither of these were on my bust team, just headnotes, hmph :)

kenny anderson wasnt as good as he was supposed to be was all i meant. kind of reminds me of stoudamire, but stoudamire wasnt as highly touted... but your'e right he's not bust..........

sorry for the confusion

p.s. diop is still young!!!!!

Kobe has still developed into one of the best players in the league. I guess it depends on how you define bust, but the most common definition would be a player who accomplishes little despite great promise. Players who were meant to be good players, but never lived up to the potential.

great choice with Yinka, didnt think anyone would remember him...

Benoit Benjamin, Bryant Reeves, Trajan Langdon (when he can shoot like that, you'd think that he could make the NBA regularly)

c christian welp, chris washburn
pf kenny payne
sf tony campbell
sg john morton
pg DWAYNE "PEARL" WASHINGTON-
there cannot be a bigger bust at pg than him. they hyped him up that he was supposed to change the way the nba played, but the league still played the same after he was drafted, they continued to play without him. i think he gets a shot biggest bust of all time.
